So I want to start wearing makeup. Does anyone have any advice on how to start? I'm pretty new to the whole thing. I've worn lipstick for formal stuff, but that's it. I've experimented with a few things but I ended up looking gross. I just want to learn how to do it properly and subtly, not overdone. I don't have any siblings and my mom passed away a few years ago. I don't really have any women in my life to help me. I've tried some watching some youtube videos, but they just don't go into much detail. It's like "do this like this" but not how to do it like that. I dunno. It's all a bit scary and overwhelming, but I'd like to try it.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Welcome to VT :)

Try going to a local beauty salon/makeup shop and ask them if they can do your makeup for you! (Make sure you have some money on you though haha) You'll be able to see how they do it, and you can pretty much ask them if they can recommend any tips for a natural look so you can use minimal makeup to start off with. The pure basics are foundation and mascara so I suppose you could ask them advice on how to apply it properly so you can have real-time advice instead of a youtube tutorial. Hope I helped :3
