So I'm just going to get right down to it.

Back in June, my friend (a girl) introduced me to another girl who I ended up dating. At the same time, my best friend started dating the girl who was my friend. My GF and I broke up at the beginning of September, but my friend and his GF are still together and I'm really close with both of them.

I really want a girlfriend again, but it seems like every girl I talk to, no matter how nice I am to them, doesn't like me back. These girls have all commented favorably on my looks and said I'm sweet, but the feelings never seem to be requited.

I'm a very shy guy, so it takes a lot for me to start talking to someone, so it's really crushing when they end up not liking me at all or just as a friend because it's really hard for me to put myself out there.

Every time my friends talk about their relationship with eachother, it's like being stabbed in the chest because I would do anything for a time where I have someone to be with like that.

How do I deal with this jealous and how might I get a girlfriend, being anxious and all, it's very difficult for me.

Truth be told most girls say you are sweet and handsome, but less than half of them would ever date you. I feel the same way. I was the shy person once and the love of my life was the same. It was easy since we were very much alike. You need to break out of your shell buddy. It is difficult, but you must if you want girls to notice you. You do not have to be loud and annoying like jocks. Just strike up a conversation, make a girl laugh, or compliment her. But limit the interaction. Tell a girl she has nice hair or a nice smile, do something silly like dance or sing, and make her laugh.
