View Full Version : What do you guys think of teen boys/ guys who wear their jeans low?

Everyone at school wears their jeans somewhat low. Most popular style = couple inches below waistband with a heavy belt visible below the shirt. It's more comfortable.
Looks like this (click to enlarge):

I do that too. But how low is too low? Seems like the taller/ slimmer you are the lower you wear them to fit the trend. I did a quick google image search to show some examples- which look good & which are going too far? Justin Bieber seems to be a big influence, here's what I saw of him:

And here's some normal images that came up, just your typical teen boy/ guy, lower and lower

What do you think? How low should they sit on your waist? Boxers or boxer briefs, even if not visible? Is it respectful?
Is a celebrity like Justin Bieber more of an exception? He gets tons of support from his fans to wear his pants low, has complete confidence sagging in publicnever been scorned about it. He lifts his shirt & displays his boxer briefs & big heavy belts and the audience goes crazy.
He's supported/ encouraged to sag since the start of his career & brands like Calvin Klein make sure he is always sagging his jeans and wearing them low. It's almost like sagging is a part of who he is, and he can't really wear them higher even if he wanted to.

I know that some girls/ guys support it (personnal experience).
The only time I hear teachers tell kids to pull their pants up is when they do that old gangster sag look. They don't mind this new style of sagging which looks much cleaner and I guess 'fashionable'.
I wear my jeans like the first picture, just a couple inches below the waistband. That's how we all wear our jeans, it's much more comfortable and you can barely tell that we're wearing them lower.

I think it really depends. a few inches is not a huge deal, to the point where the pants are almost near the knees (the waist of the pants near the knees) is just stupid

It just looks like people have bought jeans that are too small for them so they have to wear them lower for them to fit. It looks stupid and I don't understand why anyone has to have their ass hanging out, it looks incredibly immature and using Bieber as a role model is also stupid.

The Bieber look is totally stupid. Like I said a little is fine, esp if it is just the waistband or even a little of the underwear, but too much lower is dumb

I don't understand why Justin Bieber does that either.
That just looks so uncomfortable but I guess different people like different things. In the comments to that video (red boxer briefs with zebra pants) it's filled with girls saying how sexy he is. I guess they like his ass.

Sagging is fine as long as it's not like down to the knees, waistband is fine, maybe an inch of actual underwear, at most 2 inches, not like Bieber though where it's his whole butt showing

I'm not a guy but I just want to say that I don't like that look. It just looks kinda silly and not sexy. I guess it's for rappers or something idk?
Personally I like jeans that sit normal and shows off a nice bum.

So do some of you girls like the look? Iv'e been told before by a girl that I should sag my jeans a few inches, and that's what girls look at when they see us shirtless leaving the locker room. I'm of a slim/ tall build, the kind of body most people sag their jeans with. Almost everyone uses colorful/ designer boxer briefs, maybe one reason is guys like to show off their boxers?
Anyways, it seems like guys like the look on themselves as well as on others, as well as the girls. The trend just wouldn't exist otherwise.

Where I live, sagging means you live the "gangster/thug life", and many don't. I think sagging is ridiculous and I'm tempted to pull them down whenever I come across anyone who dresses that way.
But hey, I can care less honestly. It's just sloppy in my opinion. It's not hard to pull them up and wear a belt. I'm waiting for that moment where sagging to your ankles is a 'trend'.

Hopefully that will never happen. The way I see it is sagging is kind of branching off from the old gangster look and trying to become more fashionable. People are being more classy about it, using slimmer jeans( not baggy) that naturally sit lower in your waist and expensive designer boxer briefs. Big and sometimes flashy belts as well to hold them in place just where they want their boxers to stop showing. I see the mainstream trend as being a few inches below the waist. Guys with more confidence make sure you can see the level their pants are being worn at by making sure their belt is visible. I live in a northern Chicago suburb and there is a clear difference between this type of sag and a thuggish/ gangster sag. It's a teen fashion but Iv'e began seeing it take an affect on young men fashion as well.

So I was just looking a couple mobile fashion apps today and they are using the style on their models showing off new products.
A couple inches below waist with big belts. There's our answer; I guess it's officially caught on.

So what do you guys think? Is it sexy? How low should they sit on your waist? And boxers or boxer briefs? You may not see a sagger's underwear, but if you can what looks the best? And is it respectful?
Tell me which links are good examples of what look good.
ok well. i also sag waistband and a little bit of fabric so i have no problem with it. both boxers and boxer briefs look great it just epends on what you like more. From experience branded boxers (such as AE) look better sagging than hanes. As for respectfulness, no its not. someone already said that its ganster-like meaning dont sag where your underwear can be seen somewhere important. as for links you can just type "sagging tumblr" and everyting that pops up looks good. Im jealous of the people who look like that. :P

I personally don't find it attractive. But I'm also not really into the type of guys who choose to sag. I know there's a lot of girls who find it attractive though.

Like Alluring said, its normal in nyc for people to be sagging. Honestly idc, and sometimes i do it (bcuz i don't got a belt not cuz its fashionable), but as long as ya cheeks covered and ya booty game aint flat af its cool w me lol

Honestly don't like sagging jeans and really sloppy clothes on anyone or any gender. Also don't like to see overweight girls in skintight leggings. Not attractive at all.

Not a fan at all. It looks ridiculous, at least the pictures you have. If they sag a little, that's forgivable, but intentionally sagging them that much is not a good look.

I could not care less hahaha. You do what you want to do...however, doing such acts will not make you more 'attractive' than anyone else. It may even deter a lot of people! Be! wary!

a boy can look sexy with the waistband showing, especially if he wears white briefs, my preference. but the real low hanging pants with the boxers bunched up doesn't look good to me.

Personally, I don't care for it. Poor fashion sense. Never did it.

I think it depends on how low they wear them. Lots of boys wear them like that, and to be honest, it kinda looks really stupid. Pants aren't meant to be that low.

They anyway come down..exposing waistband of my briefs....Whn I was skinny they came down cos I didn't have a butt to hold the jeans....Now they come down cos my bubble butt pulls my jeans down whn I bend.....I don't mind it much..

I personally think it's stupid and manky. Guys would probably call us girls nasty things if we did it and I don't want to see your pants anyway! Waistband is fine but anything below it, nahhhh

If your underwear is showing, or you don't need to unzip to pull your junk out, it's too low. Pull it up and get a belt.

I think it's ok to show off 2/3 inches of underwear, but wearing your jeans below your bum is just stupid.

If it's supposed to make the guys look cool and sexy it's a big fail for me. It just looks like a big kid who forgot to tighten his belt. Didn't this style start inside prisons so that these guys who wore their jeans low were sending a signal out to other cons that they were "available" :)

Not sure why everyone is so against it. As long as its not overly baggy it doesn't look tacky at all. I get compliment all the time on my style and I sag. It's way more comfortable because it doesn't crush your junk.

I don't mind the waistband or a little of the underwear showing, but some people wear them so low their pants are practically falling off. that is where it gets just stupid
