My great-grandmother passed away in her sleep. She was well in her 90's and lived a long and eventful life. I remember growing up when I visited my grandmother, she used to take us (my brother, my cousins and I) to my great-grandmother's house, and we would all play games in the basement or run around in her huge backyard. We would see deers and pick apples and pears from the trees. We would have big dinners and family gatherings in her small kitchen, and look through the vast amount of photo albums in her living room. It was simple life back then. Everybody knew everybody, and if they didn't, my great-grandmother was sure to introduce us. She was sweet, and caring, and as she grew older (though she had alzheimer's), she still made sure everyone was comfortable and fed. Though I didn't know her that well, I will always remember her and remember the times we shared. My heart aches.

Your great-grandmother sounds like an incredible women. Every trait and attribute that a grandmother should have, a true gift to the planet. I genuinely believe that grandparents are special, they can do things and say things that parents just can't; there's always that special bond between grandparent and grandchild - and I believe you had that.
I am so sorry for your loss, but remember death can not take the memories, which is the most important thing.
Feel free to message me if you want to talk, or more importantly, if you just want someone to listen. I will be happy to do so.
Rest in Peace x

Thanks man :) I agree, grandparents strike bonds that can relate to no other.

She was. My dad was hit pretty hard with her loss but he's doing okay now. Thank you
