I Hate Skype...

Messages I sent nearly six hours ago are still sending. My laptop is usually pretty fast, and I would say it's just the storms but everything else is working. I'm new to Skype and I was wondering is there anything I can do to speed it up?

If you're sending a message to someone privately, and not in a group, the message will not be sent until that person is online. I don't know why..

Skype sucks I agree. Kik and xbox live party chat are the only services for me

That is true, skype messaging is really bad. It either sends, or doesn't send at pure random. I personally use kik for all my texting.

Skype is not an offline texting system. This means the messages you send to other people will only show up if you and the other person are online at the same time. About the speed issues, it can also be problems with the connection of the person you are sending messages to.

I hate Skype to begin with. I only ever use it with my sister who lives away. Luckily I dont have a working webcam atm so I have an excuse not to use it

Works great for me when my internet is stable enough, the only issues I have are during storms.

It could just be a problem with my laptop then, I'll try it on a different computer and see what happens.

The problem you are experiencing is that Skype does not send messages to users who are offline. They will receive it when they get online, but I'm also pretty sure you need to be online too. Don't get frustrated over your computer or internet, this is simply how Skype runs.

Works ok with me, you have to have the person who your messaging online for the message to be able to get through... I think it was a lot better before microsoft had it...

Thanks for your replies, I've had it on pretty much constantly for the last three days, and the other people have been on line. I think my Skype is just having a tantrum :P

Skype is annoying. It's one of the only ways i can keep connected with a couple of people and the general lagging even when we're online at the same time annoys the hell out of me. On top of that offline messaging is stupid as mentioned by other before me. Basically it just makes me angry lol.

mine usually sends them right away, if the other person is online. i have experienced that if it was in a group chat, it can take a bit longer time for it to send

I like Skype on my computer but iPad Skype sucks really bad
