Do any of you save money?
Are there any cool apps that can help me do that? Are there any good features?

Sure. That's how I'm saving money:
Now and then I'm jobbing and I don't give away all the bucks. Also I need no apps, just simple math skills to save it. But may be there's a app called: less-shopping-save-more-money.

Ha! Thanks Liam. I know, right....
I try to save as much as I can but it's never enough.

Well I'm not earning so i can't exactly comment but when i used to get pocket money earlier, i used to set aside at least 10-20% of it. There may be apps but honestly i think it's best you keep a record of your own rather than relying on the app to do that for you.

I am pretty good at saving money, the more I have the less I spend. I am pretty tight on a dollar and have to have a very valid reason for spending it. Otherwise it just sits in m checking account

I think the earlier you develop a discipline of saving the easier it is and it becomes a natural part of your life. Determine a set percent of income that goes to savings and do not under cut that amount. What works for me is having a checking account and a savings account. Every check I deposit is divided between the two according to my predetermined percent. It has worked well for me for several years now.

Thanks everyone! Seems like you all are doing it on your own. I was looking into mint and other stuff, so that I don't have to think about it .... but I get it, it's common sense.

I save just about everything. Life is expensive you know and that means saving for the big purchases (e.g. college)

Best advice I can offer is save between 1% and 30% of what you make and simply put it in an envelope in a safe place. Use the rest as spending money. Before you buy something wait a week, if you still want/ need it buy it. Otherwise it wasn't important enough.

Yeah! I've saved up quite a bit of money, and it is great, I've always tried to limit my spending (figuring out how much I want to spend a month, and knowing how much I want to save in proportion to that). It is great having saved up money, I bought a used car (with help from my parents) senior year, and am using some money to travel over break this year. Saving money is a great choice in the long run. Talk to your parents about it and make a bank account would by my suggestion. Then make weekly deposits (depending on what you make if you have a job) and focus on putting more money in the account than what you are spending. Good luck!

Yep I do! I usually do small jobs during the summer to save as much as I can.
Right now I work 3 or 4 hours daily on the beach selling juice and ice cream with a friend, and sometimes I help the owner of a small shop near my home.
I've done some jobs as a promotional model too, but I don't like it too much, people stare at me a lot.
Try to save as much as you can :D

Save everything you don't need. It will be useful in the future

I have a really useful app for saving money...Excel. Keep a spreadsheet of all of your purchases, no matter how small and look at how much different things add up to. If you look at cutting down on each thing by a certain amount you can calculate how much you will save.

I also run a company though, so I have to be pretty anal about bookkeeping for that anyway...it just spills into my personal life too.

I have a good job for a 17 year old which gives me a lot of space for fun stuff. but i want to do so many things in 2016 (drivers license, going to Albufeira in July, spanisch classes) I really have to lower my spending. I just went on a spending spree last week and bought myself a ton of new clothes and shoes which i feel kind of bad about now. luckily I can work a lot in january and february so it'll be okay

Woho! A thread for me!
As lliam said there is no need for an app if your brain is able to do additions and subtractions.
But anyway, first you need to know how much you earn, whether it's a regular income or some money that you earn with little jobs etc.
Personally I have the chance to have a regular income. First, when living "regularly" I don't lose money, I try to have 200€/month in food expenses and that's pretty much all, by that I mean it's the only regular expense I can modulate as the rest is pretty much fixed (apartment's rent etc). I then look for reducing this expense, it's even funny sometimes.
I also got multiple bank accounts, every month when checking all my charges&revenues I take a certain sum out of my current account (the one used for everyday life) and place it in a savings account. This savings account is special because it enjoys a high interest rate but is limited in the amount of money you can place in it.
When I reach this limit I take 50% of this savings account and transfer it to another account that has no limit and constitute +90% of my cash asset but only a small portion of my equity.
This third account is also used as my primary investment fund and if I have enough cash I place it in gold or other safe havens).
So yeah, make different accounts and do regular transfers to an account you can't access that easily (the money present in my other accounts can't be used for everyday stuff).
You can also literally try to keep the less possible in your current account so you won't be tempted in buying stuff that is not worth your money.
Side note: I am sometimes very impulsive in buying things, so I know it can be hard.
Side note 2: This post contains information they-don't-want-you-to-know.
