How did you get detention or suspended? I've gotten several detentions and suspensions in my old school district.

My detentions:
1. I screamed in someone's face after they threw a math book at me in a study hall.
2. Someone said they wanted a volcano to explode under me, and I told her she was stupid because volcanoes don't explode in classrooms.
3. Somebody wrote alien on the wall and signed it my name, and I told the principal I didn't do it. They called me a liar.
4. Someone tried to punch me and I blocked it. The person faked an injury and I got a detention.
5. After someone tried to fight me, they called me a chicken when I refused. I kicked them out of anger.
6. Some girl always threw my binder on the floor when she walked by my desk. Every time, the teacher insisted it was an accident and I told her she was wrong.
7. Somebody asked me how many F's I got on my report card, and I told her it was none of her business.
8. A boy told me that I would go through blood, sweat, and tears. I told him no. The teacher said that no is not a nice word. Then she told me she hopes I'd enjoy detention.

My suspensions:
1. After two boys told me that I was stupid and ugly in the computer lab, I threatened to hurt them with a knife. (Two days, out of school, Magistrate, community service.)
2. Someone called me an anorexic gummy bear, I told them it's better than being a fatass like her. (One day, out of school.)
3. Someone ripped my homework in half when the teacher wasn't looking. Teacher yelled at me for being disrespectful to trees. (Two days, out of school.)

FUN FACT: THIS SCHOOL CLAIMS THAT THEY'RE A BULLY-FREE SCHOOL.

And that was just middle school.

The only detention I remember having was because of a fight in 7th grade. And in 2nd grade I was suspended for "escaping" school, I was caught calling a cab in the street.

The only detentions I ever remember is one for taking longer than 5 seconds to talk to the teacher in elementary school because they were doing some kind of program to make me talk more, and another time when I forgot to get my parents to sign a lab safety contract.

Im in 8th grade now so there really isnt a point of leaving because if I go to a new school, I might make new friends that 1 year but then I will be leaving them the next year

Escaping. That's king of funny :P. The only real disciplinary action I've had go on my record was for a 'fight' in 6th grade. Some guy pushed me. I didn't actually do anything, but our school has a "Zero Tolerance Policy" for fighting.

Where is this school located, the Twilight Zone?

have had a few suspensions for grand scale meltdowns, mostly just to give me time to recover.

Never gotten a detention or suspended... guess that makes me a goody-goody.

However, there was that one time in third grade that I scratched a guy for making fun of my friend... got a warning for that.

Well, in primary school I got sent to the head teacher's office a handful of times;

-Throwing stones - yeah, and then got banned from going out at breaks for a week.
-Fights - happened occasionally, not that I started them, mind you. One in particular on a 5 day trip this guy punched me (to this day I have no idea why) and I flew for him - the end result was a good ole' talking to and "shake and make-up (never did and ended up fighting another 2 or 3 times afterwards.....)

In high school, when I first went in we never had detention, it was punishment exercises - basically copy something, biggest waste of time ever. Got 2, one for swinging on my chair, the other for not getting changed quickly enough in PE.

I've avoided the new detentions however :D

One time I was to be given a detention for eating a sweet at the end of class (ikr), the teacher went away to get me the slip, the bell went and I just ran off :) Someone in my class reminded her the next time we were there and she just said "I know..." never heard anything of it since :D That was 3 years ago....

Not much :P But I usually avoid it somehow, even if I do think I've deserved it.

I'm always in trouble, I dont get suspended because my school doesnt do that, but I get detention like every week

getting into fights
skating inside school
refusing to go to the chalkboard
arguing about santa claus skin color
telling a teacher that she sucked
not disagreeing appropriately
throwing a dictionary at someone's head
forgetting my gym class uniform
sexist remarks (i called someone a slut)
kicking the paper bin
not paying attention
slamming doors
being suspiciously quiet
smoking in class
not handing in homework on time
not handing in homework at all
swearing
setting things on fire
telling a teacher i hated her
not taking my headphones off
breaking a glass (it was unintentionally)
having alcohol in my bakpack
fidgeting
saying the pope is gay
...

Last time I got detention was last week, my biology teacher told me to take my beanie off, but there were some girls wearing a beanie too and she didnt say anything to them so I didnt. Then she started talking shit so I took it off but put my hood on and got detention for the rest of the week.

I got expelled from a school once, but I deserved it because everything I was doing was getting into fights, skipping school and being high all the time.

Too many detentions for me to count man! I'm Year 10, I've got them since Year 7, they build up. So, I'll just go onto the list of explosions.

I've been expelled six times.

1. Fight - Well, basically, I'm the sort of guy who if he sees someone getting bullied, he will jump in, so I did, me and my mates jumped in because this one kid was getting attacked by four of em, so me and my friend, Johnny jumped in and we took out the four kids who were bullying him and we got kicked out. (3 Days Excluded)

2. Wagging - It was my girlfriends funeral as she had died about three weeks ahead, I hadn't told anyone though so I had to skip school to go to the funeral however when I was coming home, a teacher saw me and took me back to school and they kicked me out. (5 Days Excluded)

3. Fight - Someone was talking shit about my dad who had died, they didn't know I was behind them though so as they turned around I punched him square in the face and he fell into the deputy head. (5 Days Excluded)

4. Pressing the Fire Alarm - This one was a complete accident. I was standing by the wall and their was a fight so I got knocked and I fell into the alarm which turned it on. I then got kicked out by the deputy. (3 Days Excluded)

5. Fight - Some kid decided he was going to try and Blackmail me, let's just say he didn't get far as I smashed his phone of the side of his head and then cut him and then I snapped the sim card. (10 Days Excluded)

6. False Accusations against a Teacher - Right so a teacher grabbed my arm and swung it back into a chair, I told the Head and he took me to the deputy, and then the deputy said it didn't happen and kicked me out. (5 Days Excluded)

I got detention in the 8th grade because I was accused of hitting a kid on a school bus. Which, I didn't. The kid associated me with the people who did because I was sitting in that general area. So safe to say, I was beyond mad about having to serve a detention for something I had no part of.

I got detention in 5th grade because there was this one kid who decided to steal mg glasses and then he went outside because this was during recess and he started rubbing them over the pea gravel which scratched them to hell. Then I start running after him asking him to stop doing that which he responds by kicking me in the face giving me a bloody nose. At that point I realized he was just crazy and then I decided to kick him in the face which hurt him more than he hurt me. But amazingly teachers start looking as I kick him and I get the detention while he is fine other than a bloody nose and a black eye.

In 7th grade, I was having a bad day and punched a kid I still don't like to this day in the face 3 times after he threw rocks at me. I got out of school suspention for a week and a half.

In 9th grade, I was with some kids after school and one of them pulled out a joint and started smoking it. We wre caught and I was suspended for a day because I was there.

Never been suspended out of school, but I've had ISS (in school suspension) because it's the form of detention here, and I've been sent to the principal a lot.

ISS:
- In 7th grade because I had a sprained ankle and was on crutches and when the science teacher wanted me to run in place for a heart rate lab I refused and she kicked me out.
- Last year because I told a substitute off because she was slamming her hands down on the desk and screaming in my friend's face and I don't play like that, I went off and then left the room because I got so mad and I was going to have a seizure if I stayed in there, and I refused to seize in that room. She ended up getting fired as a sub...
- At my old school we had to wear little I.D. tags on a lanyard all day everyday (it was supposed to prevent shootings.. Idk how). I hated the tag so I refused to wear it a lot. I just wouldn't bring it to school. The rules were if you didn't have your tag you had to go to the ISS teacher and get a neon sticker to wear on your shirt all day that said "No I.D. today," and they recorded your name every time you had to get a sticker. I got ISS twice for having to get a sticker too many times. Then they gave me ISS because I hated the picture that was on the tag of me, so I put a sticker picture of a robot over my picture and refused to remove the sticker.
- Sleeping in class
- Because a bipolar kid threw his desk at me and I freaked out on him.. the teacher made him mad. He's a hardcore atheist, what science teacher in her right mind would argue religion with him??
- Skipping class
- Not bringing a book to class
- In 4th grade like maybe 7 of us were in the classroom and the rest of them were outside. This nerd kid said "it's so quiet you can hear a pen drop" and he threw a pen in the floor. I said "it's so quiet you can hear a book drop" and dropped a book in the floor and busted out laughing. The nerdy kid went and told on me. -_-
- Telling a teacher that I didn't like her.
- Writing in the bathroom stall and I wasn't even the one who did it. (3rd grade)

I got sent all the time to the principal's office. Almost every day in 2nd grade because my teacher hated me. I ended up getting paddled more than once because she sent me for the stupidest stuff. The first time I got paddled she had sent me for looking at the freaking flag. They paddled me because I had been sent so many times and that was supposed to deter me from getting sent to the office.

Then sophomore year, my friend and I were chatting on Gaggle (a school thing online) and we got in trouble for using the chat even though it was FOR school.. it was stupid. Our teacher had given us an assignment to use the chat to work together, then the next day we got called to the assistant principals office and were given ISS for two days. The librarian who got us in trouble was just mad because Emily had told me a joke on the gaggle chat.. she said something to the effect of "what has 100 teeth and conceals the beast?" and then she said "a man's zipper" and I laughed for whatever reason, it just hit me funny and the thing she said before that was hilarious too.. and so then I typed back "rofl" and apparently that was inappropriate. But I told the librarian off when she was telling me that.. so I guess that didn't help me either.

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time once, pretty much. Someone told me to say "Your father" And I honestly didn't realize they were making fun of someone so I was like "Your father?"

I had such a bad panic attack the teacher felt bad and got me out of it. .-.

I have never gotten a detention or a suspension. But I bet that will change soon.

Edit: I forgot I almost got suspended in seventh grade when some dipshit passed me a not that said a girl had small noobs and I wrote amen back. The teacher hated everything about me and I was scared... For my life.

I got off with a warning. The other guy wasn't so lucky.

Detention: I was joking with my friend in Spanish class and said "su madre", and my Spanish teacher told me that was rude, impolite, and would probably get me beaten up in the Dominican Republic (where he grew up). We all laughed because we thought it was silly and over-exaggerated. A few days later I left a note on his desk that said "su madre" like an inside joke, but the teacher picked it up, read it, and accused my friend of writing it and being insensitive and for not listening to him and gave him a detention. I admitted that it was me, and we both had a ten-minute detention after school that day. I said I wouldn't do it again. It's still an inside joke between us.

Some kids were picking on me in 2nd grade, surrounding me and all, and I drew my fist back.

Funny thing is, I stopped. There was really no point in the detention unless I did something.

-throwing a snowball at a girl's face. Detention.
-running in a corridor. Detention.
-having a messy desk in primary. Detention.
-reading a comic book in class. The teacher asked me to repeat what he said and I repeated the last 5 minutes verbatim. Still got lines to copy.
-forgetting to bring my stuff to English class. Lines to copy.
-throwing ink on the wall. The sub got all pissed and almost had me do detention until the actual teacher who knew very well I was the best English student in the school came and just laughed it off as a bored student's antics. I got harder assignments.
-the Catechism teacher got all pissy at me for making fun of the Bible and had her retribution by giving me exceedingly low, undeserved scores in every test she could slide an inkling of subjectivity in. Very passive-aggressive. It was Catechism so it didn't matter (when I was in school, Roman Catholic religion classes were still mandatory in ALL public schools in Quebec).
-worming in my chair (again, boredom). I got to stand on my desk and gesticulate randomly (think seizure standing up) in front of the whole class for 5 minutes. Everybody found it hilarious and people actually volunteered to do it in subsequent classes. I guess the aim was to humiliate me into obedience but it kind of backfired.

I never did my homework but my test scores were always excellent so no teacher cared even while they sent others to detention for the same thing.

Now a success story :

Some guy offered me weed to be in his team so I could get their grades up. I didn't know what weed looked like at the time but to my now trained eye it was a good half-ounce. He took the bag out and said "I'm gonna give you 50$ worth of weed to join my team". He did it right in front of the teacher, who saw the whole thing. He didn't say a word.

I was one day away from being sent to mandatory Thursday extended school (from 2:30-6:30p) because of my attendance habits, but I convinced my dad to clear it all up with them. Much to my surprise, it worked - and I haven't cut a single class since, lol.

I believe I have shared this one before.

I was sent to detention many times for just tardiness, my phone rang a couple times in class, and there was a debate class I was in and I swear that teacher had an agenda against me and I would be sent to detention for calling her out on her teachings.

But in junior high I was suspended. I attached myself to the so called rowdy kids at school. We just long story short went to the corner store before school one morning and bought some noise maker poppers that really hurt if you throw one at someone and we all sorta agreed to during lunch to start throwing them at other people. I decided not to do it and hide away from them during lunch but because I am still apart of their group I was punished as well so that sucked and I learned my lesson. :(

In year 2, me and some of my friends got detention for writing " X IS IN LOVE WITH Y" all over a wall with crayon. Another girl, who we'd written about, decided to kiss the guy and ended up in trouble with us. :-D

In secondary school, I've had a few; mostly for not doing homework or forgetting to get things signed by my parents. None of it was major stuff, my school is just super strict. Their current idea to reduce the number of students being late is a one hour detention after school on a friday. If you're late more than once in a week, or you skip the detention, it's a 2 hour detention the next week. About 50 people have a late detention each week, so I don't think it's working that well.

I [so far] have managed to avoid getting detention/suspended the entire time I've been in high school, which with the shit I've pulled, is really surprising. The last time I got detention was in sixth grade, and that was lunch detention for tardies. I was absent for about 30 days in my sixth grade year, so once every week or so. I hated coming to school. Whenever I did come to school, I'd tend to miss the bus more often than not, so I'd have my parents drive me to school in often torrid weather and end up late to my classes.

Jesus, other schools (especially in America it seems) are both unfair in dealing justice and stupidly strict! Detention for swinging on a chair or swearing? Forgetting gym kit? Arguing about Santa's (fictional) skin colour or the Pope's sexuality? At my school we insult and swear at each other all the time - it is banter! My housemaster also really doesn't care what we do, as long as no-one is seriously hurt - like we climb on top of buildings and walls to get balls all the time and punch each other in the arm or leg on a regular basis.

I can understand the school having problems with vandalism and someone making a flame-thrower but calling someone a slut or "being suspiciously quiet" is just idiotic!

This whole concept of a "Zero Tolerance Policy" meaning that everyone involved should be punished, whether in the right or the wrong, is ridiculous.

This post makes me feel soooo much better about myself, sometimes I think I'm the only one who gets in trouble! :)

I've had more detentions than I can count, most for 'bad attitude' or telling them how it is in m opinion. Also for not doing homework, skipping class, talking too much.

I got suspended once for getting caught with weed.

And I got put in isolation for a bit coz I wouldn't take out my lip ring.

I think detention for fighting

Swearing at my teacher. 3 hour detention.
Writing a paper about how much I hated my teacher. Parent teacher Conference.
Having my mom cuss my teacher out. Priceless.
Now in all seriousness. I had gotten a detention fifth through Eighth Grade for not doing my homework, I got in one fight in eighth grade and I got suspended for 2 weeks. He kind of got sent to the ER... oops.
I remember back in 6th grade, I had to call my mom to tell her I got a detention when the techer was standing over me to make sure I did. I, being clever and such, called my own phone so that mom never found out. My phone was in my pocket... went from half an hour to 4 Saturday detentions, 8 hours each...

Where do I start. The most memorable detentions were for:

- Throwing an apple across the canteen which hit a teacher in the head.
- Placing a dead mouse in my science teachers desk drawer on a friday afternoon right before school ended, got ratted out by somebody for that when the teacher found it on monday morning.
- Got caught in the act of drawing a cock and balls on a whiteboard using permanent marker, it was on there for days lol.
- Got caught streaking across the playground during lunch break after loosing a bet.
- Fighting on a number of occasions.
- Not doing homework.
- Swearing in class.
- Swearing at teachers.
- Setting off the fire alarms.
- Not wearing the uniform correctly.
- Using my phone.
- Not turning up for class.
- Damaging school property.
- Generally being disruptive in class.

I've also been suspended twice. Once for breaking another boys nose after I saw him hitting a girl, which I got arrested for. The second one was when me and my ex gf got caught at it in a toilet cubicle.

I haven't really had a detention in ages, not since like I was 14. My most recent one was probably because I was having a conversation instead of doing work and the teacher deliberately attacked me for it and then I called out the fact everyone else was talking and I called her an unprofessional whore. That was like two months ago, it was horrible of me but I was mad.

Other ones I've had during my less mature years were kind of funny. My first detention in year 7 was because I was in DT and hammered a piece of metal and it flew across the class room and hit the assistant head teacher in the head. I felt so awkward and I got in a lot of trouble. Then also in year 7 I pinned up some boy who called me a c*** and strangled him. In year 8 I spent most of my time skiving lessons because I thought it was funny and cool. I also walked out of most lessons when the teacher had a go at me for not doing work, because once again I thought I was hilarious. In year 9 my maths teacher said that he'd cut himself if he was me and I was going through self harm issues at that time so I got extremely angry and upset and threw a chair at him and called him a c***. Funny fact is that he got fired a few months later.

I calmed down in year 10 and 11, I don't really do much and I get along with most of my teachers now.

Asshole tried to do the knock out game to me in the hallway, I may or may have caused some hearing loss to his right ear. And knocked the wind out of him. And threw him into a locker. The Zero tolerance policy is bullshit, if I'm going to get in trouble for defending myself, then I'm going to get my money's worth.

Detentions for loads of stuff that I can't even remember now

Got suspended for:

Sending songs from my mate"s phone to mine, with his permission, school thought I was "hacking" his phone
It was a boarding school, and I left the school grounds in the middle of the night to meet up with some people

Got expelled:

By 'ending' a fight that the other guy started, school assumed I started it because he didn't say different. He got left with split eyebrow, all because he wanted to use my coursework instead of doing it himself

1.Phone
2.Phone
3.Phone
4.Phone
5.Swearing at a teacher
6.Refusing to do a essay. (I just did a essay 2 days before and they schedule changed me into a class halfway through a civil rights essay)
7.Damage to school property (I accidentally broke a Macbook)
8.Got caught with a lighter and a cigarette
9.Out of school dress code (Didn't wear a belt)

Suspension:
1. Fight (During a wrestling match dude from one of our rival schools elbowed me which is cheating in the ribs and made me tap out with a arm bar so I got mad and beat the shit out of him)
2. Fight (A High Schooler was bullying my middle schooler cousin and I beat the shit out of him at the bus stop)
3. Leaving Campus and Disrespect to a school board employee. (A P.E. teacher was yelling at me and I cussed him out and went home with my friend)
4. Assault on a school board employee ( I got in a fight with the resource officer, basketball coach, and principal. I ended up being indefinitely suspended for almost a year and served 6 months in a Juvenile Corrections facility for it )
5. Fight at the Bus Stop ( I got in a fight with my neighbor at the bus stop which turned out to be a school zone. Served 3 months in a detention center before charges were dropped )
6. Fighting (In 6th grade a dude was picking on me and I told him to chill and asked the teacher to move him. He tried to talk shit on a day when I was in a bad mood and I folded him. It was hilarious he was leaning over his seat out cold)
7. "Missile Launching" ( A dude asked to borrow a pencil and I threw it. The teacher hated me and had me suspended for a day. )
8. Intoxication (My big brother threw a party and I was drinking till like 5 in the morning and vomited at school and they suspended me. )

My one and only time getting a detention was because some dickhead challenged me to a fight in the hallway walking to class, I ignored him so his reaction was to check me (he was a hockey player) into the lockers and and scratch my arm, ended up that I spent 10 minutes in the detention until I got fed up and told the teacher what happened, got out Scott free :P
