I think doesn't matter from what country you are. Some guys are cut and some aren't.

Yes. It's a personal choice made for you on your behalf by your parents usually.

Yea, like others have said, it's more of a personal decision, even though some countries are at a higher rate for circumcision, it all comes down to a personal decision, or based on some religions for that matter

yes. but here in the U.S it is a social norm. for you to circumcise your kids so I guess he is wondering if it the same in the U.K or Canada

In america its the social norm and over 80% are cut however in the Uk or Australia its less than 5% are and this is mostly for religious or medical reason so it does matter what country you come from in the way of cultural and social normality.

Canadians in our age group are circumcised less often than in the US (I have lived in both countries), but from the sound of it, it is more common in Canada than in Britain.

I live in the US and I'm uncut. I guess the majority of boys here are cut judging from the boys I see in my PE class. My dad is uncut too and maybe that's the reason that me and my brother bot are uncut.

If I'm right, when you're born in the US the parents are asked whether they would like the kid to be circumcised or not and most say yes. In England (I'm not sure about Canada) that option isn't their, nor is circumcision available on the NHS unless for medical reasons.

I saw the results of a survey some time ago and it said that only 4% of British boys were cut. Don't know exactly U.S. or Canucks, Google it.

Here's some info which may help. The USA has the highest non-religious rate. Last I heard it was around 65% and falling. Most medical organizations around the world don't agree with it. The USA's medical organizations recently came out and said something like "Yeah, there may be good to come of it, but there's also a lot of risks involved."

Wikipedia has a prevalance of circumcision page that has a global map which is pretty cool.

There's also a page if you search for "mgmbill" that has a list of the states in the USA and their percentage rates.

In the western USA, there's a lot of Mexican and other immigrants who don't circumcise their kids. As various state insurances stop paying for it, the rates decrease. People are starting to see how it's mainly a cosmetic thing.

The way I see it, in the USA, most people have friends with skin and friends without it. A lot of people circumcise because they think their kids will be teased if they're not. (What sense does that make??)

The general trend it guys in the UK and Canada tend to mostly be uncircumcised unlike the US. I'm uncircumcised, 16, and 7" erect.

In the U. S. it is very common as it is a normality in our society and are asking upon the birth of the baby. I am originally from Canada, and in the West, provinces like British Colombia and Alberta are more likely to be cut because it is free for them with their health care. Whereas in the East in Canada, you have to pay for the circumcision. So it is like 50/50. In the U.K., they do not ask you upon borth because it is very unusual to have that procedure in pretty much the rest of the world other than for religious reasons.

Same here. I was born in BC, and a circumcision was not covered under the health plan. My parents would have had to pay (they mentioned this once, it was an odd convo. I didn't have it done and I guess there was money left over for deep-sea fishing :yeah: My mother was against it anyway). I don't know about Alberta, but of course they always vote conservative and might keep up traditions.

I remember reading that none of the provinces cover it anymore, but I could be wrong.

Very rare in UK. Only for actual medical reasons ie phimosis , not hygiene or any of the excuses they have in America.

Lived in Canada for a while and yes it's mostly 30 percent cut and the rest are uncut. As far as great Britian, from reading on here it sounds like unless its a nessicaru procedure to maintain good health or for religous reasons-- they're mostly uncut.

I'm not necessarily from the UK or Canada, but I was born in an area relatively NEAR Canada and I have family from the UK. I'm 14 years old, circumsized, 6.5-7" long and 5-5.5" in girth.

Canada and uncircumcised here.

Most of the people that I know say they're uncircumcised but I haven't really checked around.
