In my JROTC unit, we have a military ball every year which is basically a dance for JROTC people.
I didn't get to go last year, so this will be my first one. I'm pretty excited about it, but my boyfriend won't be able to go. So I ended up making plans to go with a guy friend.
I'm pretty sure this guy friend only likes me as a friend, and my bf said he didn't have a problem with it.
Even though I got approval, it still seems weird to me.
Thoughts?

If your boyfriend is fine with it, why not? Dances aren't exclusively meant for couples. Yeah, it's fun to go with someone so if you can take a friend, why the heck not? I wouldn't worry about it so much. Just have some fun and then you'll be able to tell your boyfriend you had a good time and hopefully your friend will have fun too.
You're not going with the intention of cheating, you asked how your boyfriend felt which is considerate of you, and you just want to be able to bring someone even if your boyfriend isn't available. No harm in that.

your boy friend is ok with it. it is not like you are going to do anything more then dancing and having a good time in general. if he is fine with it, it is no big deal

Like the others said, if your bf knows about it and is fine with it, then enjoy yourself.

Have fun! I think I can learn something from everyone and going to a dance or even on a date does not mean you are cheating. If your bf did have a problem with it, I would think he was trying to control you. Tell us how it went ok

Dont stress it, you know your bf loves you and you love him, so theres no worries. Apparently your bf trusts you alot to say its okay for you to go with another guy friend and that says a lot about the type of guy he is, so you should have faith and trust in yourself to be able to do this and have a good time.

You already let your bf know and he said it was ok so you're good to go. Obviously your bf knows and trusts the guy and so do you so what's the big deal? Just have fun...it's not like you're gunna make out with him or anything.
