I've never cut before but I have this really strong urge to do so. The other night I was trying to find a razor but I couldn't so I just want to bed. I'm struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.

It's for the best that you didn't find one. My advice is try and release the urge in another ways besides cutting. Shouting, writing, singing and running are all good. You could also try distracting yourself by doing something you enjoy. And of course you can always come here to rant. If you feel you've tried everything and nothing's working, please consider going to a professional. You seem to have this quite strongly, I waited until it was almost too late to ask for help, don't you do the same. Good luck

Well dont hold back on sharing that with your therapist.
It was therapy that got me out of cutting.
Once you start, it will just end up being something you want to stop.
It will just end up being yet another struggle and problem in life.

Ok, try a different method to cutting, writing, drawing, punching a pillow to let some steam off, just anything but cutting. I'm here if you ever need to chat.

It's good that you haven't tried cutting, and you should keep it that way.

I know what you mean about the urge, like it's this one thing that just draws you in and has meaning and it's always just out of reach. But trust me, when you give into the urge, you get so much more than you bargained for - the paranoia about unrelated things, the inability to connect with friends the same way as before, the pain, the fear, the drop in your grades, the scars, the freaking out because you realise your arm is bare and you need to cover up... the list goes on. It's just not worth it, but it's so hard to stop. So do whatever you can, just don't, don't ever start.

And if ever need/want to speak to someone, you can PM me, whether you're cutting or thinking about it or having an entirely unrelated problem.

Cutting/any form of self-harm is not worth it. It doesn't do a thing for you other than to make your problems worse in the long run.

As for suicidal thoughts, please, PLEASE consider calling a hotline or telling someone if you get serious. As someone who has attempted suicide multiple times and failed, I wish I would've tried to talk it out first. Death is never a beginning, only an end. You have no way of finding out if things get better. You'll never laugh, love, smile, see the sunrise, listen to your favorite song- it'll all be gone. And I'll admit, it isn't always easy to walk away from those feelings. Yeah, there have definitely been times I wish I was never born, or that I would've killed myself such and such time I tried, and so on. But for the most part, I don't regret living.

If you have to regret living, you need a new life. Whatever's bothering you, you need to get away from it, or deal with it. You need a support group. At the very least, that's what we're here for, so don't hesitate to vent here. :)

You shouldn't start cutting. If you ever need to talk to someone, you can talk to one of us! :)
