Does anyone else find themselves looking for a gay /lgbt role model that they can relate to? I do and I feel like there isn't anyone, at least that I can think of.

I don't really feel the need to have an LGBT role model. I kinda have a "whatever" attitude about it. My sexual orientation isn't a big deal to me, it's just a little thing that I am.
That said, I do understand why people would want a gay role model.

Tim Cook (Apple CEO)?
Seriously, I suggested him because he is known for being the CEO of Apple first, and as a gay man second. While sex and relationships are very important parts of life for us personally, the wider world need not, and should not, be primarily interested in your personal life but rather what else you have achieved.

Anyone who has the courage to come out and live the way he/she desires is a role model in my eyes. :)

I don't see why I'd need a role model for my sexuality but I've been out and open for years. But if someone inspires you and makes you feel better about who you are in any way, I think that's a good thing so go for it.

I was and still am trying to convince myself that I am a normal part of society and thought that it might help. I don't know any lgbt+ people in real life so I have no one to look up to in that aspect of things.

Yeah, same as the others. Although I am still trying to officially figure out what I am, I don't think I will need a role model for once I do.
We are all human beings. We all want the same goal in life. It doesn't matter if you are straight or gay; we all want to be loved, accepted in the society. Every year it gets better. Sexuality isn't a new concept for the newer generation. We are able to accept each other for who they are and not who they go home to love. It's only the select few who still are against different they think we are to them.
