Where I live there are no gay guys, and the only guy around my age that lives less than a few miles away is my next door neighbor... On top of that I am socially awkward, especially around other guys, and don't have many friends. And because I would rather not have to become friends with someone who lives miles away and have my parents drive me to their house, I would like to become friends with him.

I 99% sure he is straight, and we are hardly anything alike.
I would like to become friends with him, but I don't know how to introduce myself to him, and I don't know what I would do with him since we don't have any of the same interests that I know of. I would really like a guy friend.

But just in case we did ever become friends, I was just wondering...

How likely is it that he would be okay with hanging out in the nude or in our underwear? I don't see why he wouldn't, especially if he's gay, but take it slow with him.

Dude, I think before you even consider any of those questions, you must first complete the task of becoming his friend. Once you have done that, then the other stuff will just fall in place, but if you go in with those questions on your mind, then I would have to question the real purposes for your wanting to be his friend. Are you looking for a friend or a fuck buddy? You have to decide.
