I'm no doctor, and like others said, it probably is nothing, I think I heard some gland is their, either thyroid or pituitary, so that could be it, I think MAYBE those glands get altered during puberty, but not positive. Just maybe don't worry unless it gets worse or doesn't go away. And maybe google those glands and/or armpit soreness in general.

You've got a lymph node there I think. Could be swollen or something. If it enlarges and turns black, go to the doctor.

I think I have had that on the odd occasion.
There are several possibilities for the cause:
1. Anywhere hair starts to grow where it wasn't before can be itchy.
2. Your armpit sweat changes with puberty and the new kind, with more fat in it, is a better medium for bacteria to breed. It is the action of these bacteria that gives rise to body odour. That action may also cause irritation so washing would be a good idea. Alternatively a deodorant or antiperspirant used to control that BO may cause irritation.
3. There is a lymph node in the arm pit which can swell up when you have an infection.
