My guy friend (the one in all of my posts) wants a present for his birthday, but won't tell me what he wants. I don't know enough about what he likes to know what to get him, so are there certain thing guys like in general (not to be sexist in any way)?
thanks

What came to my mind first it money and food or liquor,
those are two really general gifts that me and every guy I know usualy appreciates.

Money, or food as said above is something you can always rely on. You can put them money in a card that's funny, and he can get whatever he wants with it. It's better than getting a gift he won't like.

You could give him money to buy his gift according to his own choice. Or like what everyone else said get him some food. Probably chocolates or pizza. Those are basically two things I know many guys like.

My BF is into football and races dirt bikes so like a jersey from his favorite team would be a nice and thoughtful gift or something from the motorcycle store...even a gift card. Don't know how close you two have gotten but sometimes I do special things for my boyfriend or wear something special for him on special occasions like his birthday. Use your imagination. I am sure he'll appreciate whatever you get or do for him.

Don't get him money. That makes it seem like you didn't put thought into it or you just forgot :/
I'm a football fanatic. My GF has gotten me a bunch of gear that I love and still have and use (functional gifts are nice too). Depending on how serious your relationship is you could do an experience instead of a physical gift. My GF got me Blink-182 tickets for my bday and I got her TSwift tickets for Christmas. Try to incorporate his hobbies and interests. Paintball - gear. Xbox - controllers/headset. Skateboarding - shoes. Research if you're not sure what's good and he'll def be able to tell the effort you put into it.
