Maybe when you are aroused you watch or think about stuff you wouldn't otherwise.

Like if when not aroused you don't find the idea to be gangbanged to be arousing, in fact it disgust you. Then when you are aroused that idea becomes appealing, so you masturbate to that fantasy and then feel guilty. (That was an example, doesn't have to be gangbang :p)

I think that when I first started, before I really even knew what I was doing, I did. After a while you become sort of numb to it. It's a natural thing to do and almost a primal instinct. I do find that porn will drive guilt sometimes, but again, pretty normal thing and not really anything to be ashamed of.

I feel guilty sometimes too. I think it is because we are only kinky just for that moment and after we are telling ourselves that we could be doing more productive things with our time. I think we all feel this way. Maybe we are not confident or maybe it is because it is something that we would want to keep a secret from our family and friends.

I never actually felt guilty when I masturbated or afterward. I think it's normal and natural to do it and it relieves the stress of the day and also helps me relax and get to sleep. Even my doctor agrees and he has told me that masturbation is normal. So, I wouldn't feel guilty about doing it.

As far as I can see this happens because of the interaction of hormones and the attitudes your have grown up with.

Prior to puberty the sex part of your brain is mostly idle and you don't feel horny. When you start puberty and your testosterone level goes up that bit of the brains springs into gear - you feel horny and feel like you need to do something about that, for example masturbate. That is a very powerful feeling and it tends to take priority over other ideas you may have. Even if you have been brought up to think anything sexual is nasty or immoral you still end up seeking sexual relief. Then, at orgasm, a nuch of different hormones are released and these temporarily suppress the action of testosterone on that section of the brain. Suddenly you are no longer horny and whatever feelings to may have had about sex/masturbation prior to getting horny are suddenly re-exposed.

So, not everyone feels guilty. Someone who was brought up in sex or masturbation positive household or society would likely just be ambivalent in that time just after orgasm. My own experience when I first started was not one of feeling guilty but more just thinking "why did that seem such a good idea a few minutes ago?"
