Yes I know, it is super early, but I need some opinions before I go shopping...
So, some of you may have read my previous post, and know about this girl. But for those of you who didn't, she has done a lot of things for me since I met her in March this year, she is incredibly close to me. Quite frankly, I have a large crush on her, and I'm pretty certain she feels the same way. We haven't said anything, but with how hard our school pushes, I think it's just a kinda understanding to just stay friends until we get out of school, since we are both planning on going to colleges right near each other (and I am going to have my private pilots license by then, so nowhere is too far to go and see her! :D).
Wow, I do like to talk, took me a whole paragraph just to get to my point!
Anyways, I want to get her something special for Christmas, but I don't want it to be a flirty or romantic gift, if you know what I mean. What would you guys consider the line between a romantic gift and a just something to say I care and I am extremely grateful for her?
I already have some ideas, but I'm not sure if it is going too far or not. Any help would be appreciated!
(Sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't quite sure where it would fit the best. Mods, feel free to move this to wherever it fits best!)

If you don't want to be romantic, then avoid stuff like chocolates, flowers, jewels and teddy bears lol
Uhmm, what does she like? And how much money can you spend?
A few ideas:
-A nice mug that says something like "You're very important to me :) <3". You can ever order a customized one.
-A bookshelf. Something like this (http://images.hayneedle.com/mgen/master:ENLB1583.jpg). Or even a couple of books of course.
-Is she into videogames? A new videogame then :) Or maybe a Netflix premium suscription if she likes series and movies
-A nice handbag. Careful here, first look at other handbags she has, or ask her which colors are her favorites.
-Or if she likes sports, maybe a couple of tickets for a game ;) (one for her and one for you)
I suggest you don't spend too much. For example, if you buy her a $300 gift, and she's only giving you a pair of socks, then she may feel bad about it.

Thanks for the response, she absolutely loves animals, and she is very religious. She isn't caught up in her looks at all, she never wears makeup, or anything of the sort. She does really like cute stuff, she goes crazy over cute things. Any ideas?
Edit: Money isn't an issue, it's coming out of my paycheck and I have a generous income for my age.

Try getting her a present early but nothing Christmassy, and have her guess what it is, girls will usually guess things they want, and will have no problem if it's from you. Get her something Nice obviously, then for Christmas get her what she guessed

maybe the best way to do it. something she is going to really like, but does not go into the romantic side which you do not want to do

I like the idea, but I was hoping to make it more of a surprise, and it feels kind of awkward to get her a random present. Any other ideas?

Photo album of the best memories of your friendship.
But it is borderline romantic, keep in mind though it's important to subtly respond to romantic gestures now, rather than keep them ignored or unstated because if too much time goes by, you or her might doubt your crush reciprocates, and move on to someone else.
It's important to acknowledge feelings together at a certain point, not keep delaying that conversation.
1. Does she talk on the phone a lot?
Recommend: cute but protective phone case (ones that are survival gear proof for water and impact)
Also recommend: external batteries like Anker products so she has extra power to tablet and mobile phone in case of emergency (power outages) or just because she drained her battery.

She talks on phone entirely, no texting, but she doesn't have an iPhone or anything. It's an old Mozilla slide phone.
I was looking at maybe getting her a little key chain, custom made to have all the things she is passionate about on it. Good idea, bad idea?

justindw199,
The answer is jewelry, my friend.
Girls love it, guys love buying it. It's borderline romantic but not too much. It shows you care, and it can be both cheap and expensive depending on the desired effect.
I bought a close friend of mine some jewelry for her birthday and I think she really liked it.
Hope I could help. :)

Jewellery, books, gift cards.........
And a kiss on the cheek. No I am not kidding- it isn't very flirtatious but it shows your genuine love of the person.

I was originally considering a necklace with a horse on it, since I know she loves horses. I may still, just let me know what you think of the keychain first.
The keychain is custom made with all of the things she loves on it (her favorite color, a horse, a Mexican flag (she loves Mexico, we both want to go back to Mexico again), and a christian cross on it (she is deeply religious).
Do you think that will be more personal for her? It's only going to cost $10.

Really? A kiss on the cheek? I don't know, it feels kinda awkward. I mean, when would I kiss her? When would that be appropriate?

I think that would be really cool. If that's what you think is something she would really enjoy, then you would know better than I would(you know her, after all).

That's all I needed to hear! Thanks!
