So this is an open forum discussion, and it could go in either ROTW or in puberty given that attraction really hits because of puberty development.
But within that topic, does this little psychological theory explain WHY the friend zone exists?

Simple because nice guys who usually end up being good husbands are friend zoned because girls want a non sexxual and more long term relation ship which is something they cant do if they are dating because it tends to be on thinner ice and its the difference between a nice guy seeing a girl as a sex symbol or as a person. This is why the saying "nice guys finish last" is relevant as in college the douchier guys tend to get more girls its really hard to explain but basically nice guys are saved for later and mean guys get the good stuff early.

I don't know that it has much to do with the friend zone, but it explains a lot about families.
Among my friends I don't know anybody who's sexually, romantically, attracted to a sibling. (Experimentation it seems happens mostly out of curiosity.) I have a sister 2 1/2 years younger and while I think she's very attractive, even sexy, I don't feel a sexual attraction for her even though we're close in other respects.
