Underwear/Socks Question

Hi

I'm a 14 year old guy in middle school.

I wear Hanes briefs for underwear, usually some shade of blue or just plain white. Yet when I look around the locker room, most other guys are wearing boxers or boxer briefs.

Same with socks. I wear Hanes crew socks, either white or black. However most other guys where short socks or crew socks with logos.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I change what I wear and move to the majority?

Only change what your wearing if you are comftable in the boxers but if you prefer briefs just were those. People shouldnt judge you for what you were

I agree with AjCowell, wear what's comfortable, if it happens to be the boxers, boxer briefs, short socks, or logo socks, then why not, go for the change, but if you aren't comfortable with those items, don't wear them, it shouldn't matter to them and they shouldn't judge you based on your clothes

It was like that for moe too in middle school but I never felt the need to change. What everyone else wears is up to them and you shouldn't try to change what you wear to fit in with them

For me briefs are the most comfortable and provide the support I want. Socks are socks, wear what you like. Be comfortable, be you.

why do you need to change anything? if what you are wearing is what makes you comfortable then you should just leave things as they are. If the boys next to you was wearing a parachute with holes in it and planned on jumping out of a plane, would you want a parachute like his because everyone else was wearing it?

i see more boys wearing briefs in the locker room this year, hanes and ftl mostly. ankle socks are most popular, but it's florida so we don't have to worry about being cold

I wear nike/under armor compression and mike/under armor/vans socks. Where whatever is most comfortable for you

with underwear and socks you do not have to change to conform to everyone else, wear what is comfortable for you and what you/your parents can afford. no one else has to wear the underwear and socks you have on, but you, so wear what you want to wear

Personally I like compression shorts or boxer briefs, and low cut socks in the summer, crew in the winter for obvious reasons
But that's what I like...
Does not mean that what someone else wears is less good or anything
If you like what your wearing, cool, that's great, your secure in yourself
If not, then try some new stuff and see if you like it better

But don't feel less of yourself for the clothes that you wear that you like and are comfortable.....it's what you like....

I wear briefs. Almost everyone our gym class wears briefs. Course we live in the south where it's hot. Less is better!! LOL!!

It's totally up to you, you can have your own style if that's what you want. Plus I don't think you're in much of a minority, I wear Hanes socks too. Briefs are a little more rare but you do see them around.

I don't see the need to change especially since underwear and socks are things that most people don't see anyway. There are folks who like briefs because it gives them support, and if you feel comfortable with them, then stick to wearing briefs. I guess you can purchase some boxers to see how they work, and you can figure out which gives you the best feelings. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to underwear, and remember that most people don't see it anyway.

Socks is something I would not spend too much money on, and I think what you're wearing is totally fine. I would not change that just to fit in. The only advantage to the low cut/cut off socks is during the summer to keep cool or during sports to keep cool. Other than that, if you like the socks you wear, then stick with them.

Just wear what makes you feel comfortable like everyone else is doing. I wore briefs all throughout middle and high school, and I thought they'd be teasing me about it. Surprisingly enough, everyone was pretty mature about it, even though they didn't act like it during classes. And besides, those wearing boxers are either experiencing with the pseudo feeling of going commando or have worn them their whole lives courtesy of their parents.

Same with the socks. Wear what you want, although I would think the socks would be less of a worry than the choice of underwear considering the teenage mindset. As it is with the socks, what your current preference is could be courtesy of your parents having bought you the same brand and style for years as you never said anything about it. So if you want to change styles and brands, feel free to tell them. If you don't, then there's no need to worry about it.

I wear briefs a lot. So do a lot of my friends. I don't think it's a big deal. I wear other underwear too but I briefs are nice.

No dude wear whatever you want. But I have to say I don't know any guys that wear those briefs. It's usually younger boys. Like my bro has cartoon ones lol.

I have tons of different socks but mostly I have colorful ones. I like to wear Nike elites when I wear shorts. And in the winter I wear colorful socks. My mom bought me a ton of new ones for Xmas like blue and green stripes and stuff like that.

it's funny you say you don't see anyone wearing those briefs. i've seen quite a few guys wearing them in the locker room here hahaha

Bro nothing wrong with wearing briefs. Sometimes the kids wear boxers just to fit it in and usually they aren't comfortable. Underwear is up to the individual, and for socks well man that's on you. Who cares if they have logos or low socks. Its just preference. There just there to keep the feet warm. If you're curious about boxers/boxer briefs ask your parents to buy a pack of each.

I personally prefer briefs from hanes too because I love the support

Honestly I don't know anyone who still wear briefs, all my friends wear boxers or boxer briefs, and I think briefs are mostly used by younger kids. I switched to boxers when I was 11 or 12 and find them more comfy, but sometimes I wear boxer briefs too (or compression shorts for sport).
But if you prefer briefs, keep wearing them.

Some people will wear boxers on top of their briefs.

I heard a rumor that if you're circumcised, you're more likely to switch to boxers earlier on...no idea if that's true or not, but it has to do with the briefs being tighter and rubbing up against the head.
