Ok, so as you may or not be aware it is rememberance day tomorrow so I thought I would find out whether you think everyone should wear a poppy or not.
While personally I think that if I do not what to wear a poppy I should be able not to wear one there has been hate directed towards more well know individuals who don't wear one.
I made this short questionaire to find out your viesw on the matter

Reason:
Do you think everyone should wear a poppy?:

Are you going wear a poppy tomorrow?: No.
Reason: I'm not in a country which does this poppy thing, and I don't like how the symbol of the poppy is used, and how it is used for a whole month every year.
Do you think everyone should wear a poppy?: No.
Reason: I see it as a form of idea-imposing on others, if everyone has to wear a poppy.
Do you think that it is ok to treat someone differently for wearing a poppy or not wearing a poppy?: No.
Reason: I'm not a fan of undue judgement.

Are you going wear a poppy tomorrow?: no
Reason: not american and didn't even hear this was a thing untill now
Do you think everyone should wear a poppy?: no
Reason: nobody should do anything, they can choose to show respect
Do you think that it is ok to treat someone differently for wearing a poppy or not wearing a poppy?: no
Reason: everyone is entitled to an opinion on the matter, if they don't want to wear it that's fine. It doesn't have to be disrespectful, there could be any reason they don't do it

Nah, what one wears and doesn't wear means nothing to me because I'm not a symbolic person.
I also am somewhat against symbols because it gives a tool to deceivers, because symbols rely on the eyes, and not a more intellectual meaning.

While I personally view that symbols are of diverse and extremely powerful capacities, they certainly have that capacity be usable to drive people's emotive reactions in front of their 'stepping-back' reasonable thinking.
Yet another example of sneaky/etc use of not-so-inherently-amazing tools/technology.
(I don't mean at all that reasoning is better than emotion, because that claim needs to cover everything revelant if it is to honestly be the absolute thing it is.)
I say sry for the technicality. Was trying to be efficient. I've given a formal 'yeah I agree' here.

I get what you're saying.
Moderation in all things, is the key here, the balance between logic and emotions is key.
But I am a big promoter of empathy which I think is the key that humanity come together, as long as empathy is the humble fuel for progress, and logic is the temper for actions taken off of the motivation created from empathy and love (emotions gone wild).

In the UK we wear poppies to remember all that gave died for our country from ww1 onwards. It's a poppie cos that's the only thing that could grow in the fields of ww1 after (saying goes). We have remembrance day on the 11 /11 at 11 o'clock at that time we fall silent for a minute or 2 to remember the dead Of the British armed forces and the commonwealth. As for the date and time it's the time ww1 ended after the treaty was signed. Any more questions ask :)
As for the first question yes I will/ did to show the respect for the dead. And yes I think everyone should they don't have to agree with the wars but when someone died for your country it's the least you can do

Everyone should remember and show their respect to those that died to protect you,i don't understand some persons. Will wearing a poppy kill you ? So ?
In a single day,the British Army lost 20.000 soldiers ! The worst day of the history of the British Army,(We also lost ~27.000 soldiers in a single day,and was also the worst day of the French Army),no one here would have had the guts to do what these guys did !
Respect to the fallen soldiers,we will never forget them !

The Somme really was a horror. In any event, showing respect for those who gave their lives for their countries or principles ought to be respected and shown respect. It's common decency.

Every battles of this war were horrific.
Do you know how the battle of Verdun started ? The Germans literally fired in a single day........... 1.000.000 shells at the French positions. I couldn't imagine myself there.....
Everyone paid a heavy price and deserve respect.
