Fractured Silhouette

In honor of Halloween I think it's time to celebrate all the awesome death metal/core albums that have been released this year. This has been a great year for fans of brutality.
Currents - Life//Lost
Despite being released at the start of the year, this album is still one of my favourite releases this year, the raw passionate vocals combined with some stellar guitar work and brilliant lyrics make for a great ride. It is a bit short at 8 tracks long.

A Nigt in Texas - The God Delusion
Australia has some great death metal bands and often these guys get overlooked, which is sad because they're fucking great.

Iwrestledabearonce - Hail Mary
I've never really been a fan of IWABO, I found it hard to take their music seriously. But this album completely turned it around for me, technical, brutal and fun. They even threw a bit of grind in there.

Thy Art is Murder - Holy War
While I've never been a fan. I can still appreciate the great technical aspects and lyrical content that TAIM continuously display.

Make Them Suffer - Old Souls
This band is often called the pioneers of twinklecore due to their orchestral influences. Make no mistake, this album is no less brutal because of this and is one of my favourite releases of the year.

Born of Osiris - Soul Sphere
I really enjoyed The Discovery and A Higher Place, this album is like an awesome mixture of both. While not as technically impressive as the former, it more than makes up for it with some really great vocal performances.

Assemble The Chariots - World Architects
This EP is only 3 songs long. But holy shit each song sounds absolutely HUGE.
