Should young girls be dressing up like this for Halloween?

totally inappropriate, IMO. I mean...they don't look 18, if they were then I guess that would be ok.

It's just a costume - I have seen girls wear FAR worse on Halloween. Plus, if they're really that young then I'm sure they're not doing it purposely to be a slut.
However; when I'm a parent, I would never ever let me daughter wear that haha

Well if I'm going to be totally honest...I don't like it when ANYONE dresses like that on Halloween...even grown women. I just take the holiday more seriously than others, I guess...for me its not just some fun day to go out and get candy, and dress like a whore and go to parties...

I probably wouldn't even wear that now, let alone at the age of the girls in that pic. :|

The real question is...who the fuck are their parents?

I mean, maybe not, but how appropriate is it for people to be looking at young girls this way and thinking "inappropriate"? How appropriate is it for companies or whoever is making those costumes for that age group to be doing that? I think it's a bigger picture thing, something that goes beyond just what a young girl chooses to wear for Halloween. It doesn't really go away, either... things like crop tops, miniskirts, really short shorts... all of these things are marketed towards girls as adolescents, teenagers, young adults. It's just a glimpse into a much bigger problem in my opinion.

Anyhow, typically I adopt a policy of not policing what other people do, which includes the clothes they're choosing to wear. I reserve judgment.

If they can just ditch their pants and swim in their skimpy panties or worse skimpier bikinis this is nothing wrong.!!!

You gonna say that when you have an 11 year old daughter?

I am 17 and even now if I dressed like take my Dad would lock me in my room and scream at me for not respecting myself

not girls that young either. I have been to parties where the guys and girls wore costumes/clothing which only covered so much. but a kid that young? no way

I saw a few snapchats last night of girls my age wearing extremely skimpy costumes and thought "wow I can't believe she's wearing that" because it was more like she wasn't wearing anything. I don't think young girls should be wearing costumes that revealing/racy, and I think even older girls (by older I mean in their 20's) should maybe tone it down a little bit.

I think it be inappropriate if they wore it for inappropriate reasons. However I think most just put on whatever outfit is popular and they have no idea it is being seen as inappropriate.

What do I see here? I see young girls wearing halloween costumes, that's it. Like so when someone starts pointing out "Oh but the skirt is so short, it is revealing". "Oh so that's what your paying attention to?".

This isn't really an issue, but were making it one by putting so much focus on it.

I'd say that looks a bit much for their age.

I know Halloween is already over but ...

I'm going to say NO it is not appropriate. The skirts are way too short they look like something an 18 year old would wear not an 8 year old. Also the top part of their thighs showing at that age is no just no. And the heels are a bit over the top.

I would say the dress should at least reach the knees. They are not even teenagers yet!

I'm all for freedom of expression when it comes to clothing or Halloween costumes, but even I would never let my kid walk around in something like that. I don't even know who I'm supposed to blame here. The parents, the kids, or the companies and media who are pushing these kids to mature faster then they should.

It's definitely a bit much but they don't look home made. So that means they bought it from somewhere that sold them in a small size

About as disgusting as child beauty pageants

Not appropriate.

1. There are too many similarities with the costume's design and lingerie from Victoria Secret. Sorry nope not appropriate.

2. When I was little my first reaction to seeing those is that the costume must be freezing, how are you to endure walking house to house collecting candy, in heels no less.

Also I didn't see too many of these costumes this year, almost every costume was Disney in some way which isn't much better, but they aren't as revealing as the OP's picture.

Also can we all agree homemade costumes are the best?!

My mom would kill me if I wore something like that when I was that age....and I think I would do the same with my daughter (if I had one). Why to revealing for that age.
