In less than two months I'll be 18, and I feel like I haven't done shit with my life. The past four years were supposed to have been the "best of my life" and I've completely wasted them. Sure, the past like 10 months have been pretty good because I love the people I'm friends/kinda-friends with now, but all the time before that just seems to have been filled with so much blown potential. I sit here thinking about everything I could've missed out on. I should've acted sooner and not have been so shy, but I can't help the way I am. If I could go back and re-do everything I feel like my life would be so much better and I wouldn't have to be typing this right now. Now I only have a couple of months left to live out an entire four years' worth of life. People say "Oh, you're a smart guy, at least you'll have a great future to look forward to." No shit, but that doesn't stop me from thinking about the past to the point where I become legitimately upset and depressed about it. How do people deal with/avoid thinking about stuff like this?
EDIT: And yes, the thread title is a twenty one pilots lyric - don't judge me :yeah:

Hello boy you aren't 17 yet… be a little realistic ok? can you name one person who could've done important things in history? (very few I can say) you can't return time! so be wise and next time, in similar situations act differently.
Besides, I know what you mean, about those thinking about past and getting upset because you had to act differently, but trust me, thought like this, will only get you down! So come on! Watch meet the Robinsons :D

Are you me?
Dude you are only 17, you have an entire life ahead of you. You can still accomplish a whole lot. Trust me, I've known people who didn't hit their full stride until they have graduated high school. High school is just, one, small phase of your life. It's in the Past, just focus on your future, it aint too late.
You said for the past 10 months you've been social, well take that momentum going forward to further interact with people along with accomplishing your goals. It's the only thing you can do at this point.
Everyone regrets what they did in the past, but it's what you do going forward that matters.
