View Full Version : Is it Weird to Wear Designer Clothes to School?

So I have a couple designer stuff which are pretty expensive and sometimes I want to wear them to school but at the same time it seems a bit too much and I don't want to stand out in the crowd. I don't want to get called out in the hallways for wearing designer items.

I already have a Burberry trench coat and a wallet, a Moncler jacket, Armani watch, Prada belt, Juicy Couture clothes, BCBGMaxazria clothes, etc. I'm a bit scared to wear them to school not because I'm afraid it will get stolen but because I don't want to walk around the school looking like a celebrity and I don't want to receive any negative attention. I'm not afraid however to wear Guess, Converse, Uggs or Calvin Klein to school though since they're not the biggest brand names anyway.

Also, I have these rain boots from Michael Kors that my mom insists on me wearing them to school on rainy days which makes sense but at the same time I still don't want to stand out in the crowd. I found an exact picture on Google of what they look like: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=66517795
In real life, they are a lot shinier than in the picture and the gold buckle is actually really noticeable so it does make you stand out.
But would you think that would be too much for school?

I also found a picture of my Burberry jacket on Google: http://veritykingston.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Burberry-Trench.jpeg
I know in this picture you may be like "oh it's nothing" or "it looks like a regular jacket" but that's just because you haven't seen it in real life. The real thing if you see it in real life if looks designer and doesn't look like an ordinary trench coat at all so it does make you stand out in the crowd.

I couldn't find any other pictures of designer items I own.
But anyways would you think it's too much for me to wear them to school? And to help, I'm currently in 10th grade. Would it be too much for a high schooler?

I say wear whatever the heck you want. It would only be an issue if you're overspending on clothes that you do not really need.

I don't see anything wrong wearing whatever you want to school as long as you don't act like you're better than anyone else because of what you wear or anything like that

Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell the boots and that jacket apart from stuff you buy in Primark. Stop overthinking and just wear the clothes you buy, otherwise its all just a waste of money. As said above, as long as you're not acting as though you're above everyone else because your clothes are more expensive, there's no reason why you should gain any negative attention.

Wearing this kind of stuff is not a big deal. It was usual in my high school.
Don't be scared, these are pretty clothes, wear them.

wow you must be very rich. I don't have any designer clothes but I would definitely wear them if it looks nice

Well, it's certainly uncommon, but that shouldn't stop your from wearing that kind of clothes. Just wear what you want and what you like ;)

I don't think it's weird, no - but I don't know many people who would wear things like that to school.

Oh god, this sounds just like my little brother. Same grade and everything.

Yeah, wear them if you want, and if you *like* wearing them.

Do NOT wear them because you think people will notice what you're wearing and be like "Whoa this person is totally awesome for wearing X-Brand!!" because people really don't notice/care too much in high school.

pretty much this. no reason to use all of your money (or money you don't have) just to impress people, but if you like it, it is comfortable, and you can afford it, then wear it and it does not matter what other people think

Wear what you want and what looks good.

Just be aware that if you flaunt wealth around, it can make you a target to get mugged.

This is especially true in areas with extreme riches and extreme poverty.

In my school it wouldn't be weird just not allowed due to dress code.

It definitely looks classy and yes you will stand out if no one else dresses that way, so it's really your call. Knowing how girls are, they might judge you and talk behind your back etc.
So again, it's all what you want to attract!
