So I like this girl and she likes me back (or at least I'm quite certain she does) and there's this school semi-formal dance coming up on November 14. Of course I'm planning on asking her but I'm not sure how. I don't know if stuff like this happens in other areas but at my school theres a ton of hype about how the guy asks the girl. They put together some clever plan and its kinda a big deal. I'm kinda drawing a blank on what I should do and quite frankly think it's kinda cheesy and unlike me, however theres like this big expectation, at least among most of the girls I've heard talking about it. I asked for advice and my best friend said just straight up asking her would be fine while my brother said they will say no if you do that. But then again, he spends a lot of time around the popular girl group where you probably do have to make some clever proposal. So I guess my dilemma comes in when I think my girl would be pretty chill about it but also don't want to disappoint her or anything, you know?

Be yourself and straight out ask her.

Personally I don't care for all those weird dance proposals. If I were you, I would just straight up ask her. Don't beat around the bush. I don't think she would be disappointed if you didn't make a huge deal of asking her. I'd be a little embarrassed if it was a big public thing, personally. But she could be different.

It depends on the girl really. I have seen some guys at school ask girls to a dance is creative ways and others more discretely. If she is a quiet or shy type of girl then it might be best to be more personal and ask her one on one. If she is very sociable and playful you could try to go big and ask her in front of others. Whatever you do, try not to buy expensive things or embarrass yourself or her. You can give her a flower and ask her. Just be confident and smile :)
