Trimming is easier than shaving, but it feels a lot better after shaving. The choice is yours.

i would suggest trimming. its perfect for me because i want to have some hair down there but its not as itchy and uncomfortable as having it natural

Alot of guys I know prefer to trim instead of shaving because its easier to maintain and take care of and they dont have to worry about irritation and stuff. For me, it all depedns on my mood what I do, but I like both.
