Procrastination is an extremely bad habit of mine I don't even start my homework at 9pm and sometimes I don't do it at all. I always end up studying the day before a test I just can't help it I want to stop this but I can't. I try to get rid or distractions like phone, computer, etc. but then I just end up doodling with my pencil.
I have this history project that was supposed to be due today that we have to research about a Canadian Prime Minister (I'm from Canada) and we have to list at least 4 things that are significant that they did that contributed to our country and no one finished it either so our teacher didn't make a big deal out of it but we HAVE to hand it in tomorrow and I'm not even half done. I have no idea what to do please help :(

Sorry i couldn't respond sooner and help out with your Canadian stuff. As for the procrastinating, every body does it, the best thing to do is just force your self to do it and get it over and done with. If this doesn't work, maybe get your parents to give you a punishment of you don't complete it like taking your phone away for a week or limiting your internet time? Just things like that which will motivate you to get things done. Hope this help's

You do not give your age, but the nature of the assignment indicates to me you are in upper level grade. While procrastination is a common and universal problem that drains the quality of products and is a phenomenal waste of the most valuable, and non renewal asset, available to all: TIME! Therefore, it is imperative that students, teachers, workers, take personal responsibility for their personal time management. This is what works for me: I force myself to start work on an assignment the day it is given and to finish it the day before it is due so I can review and revise my effort. How do I force myself to do this? I devised a plan of financial fines for failure to "get it done". It simply removes money from my discretionary resources and places it in a managed savings account. It worked well for me to the point that now in college I am much more productive. You, however, must figure out what you can do to force yourself to get started and get it done. Do not procrastinate on this, start working out your personal plan, TODAY! and good luck, It will not only help you now, but for the rest of your life.

I found out the hard way my friend, when i was half way through my 4th year of Academy (Sophomore year of high school, Middle School and High school are all in one, so 6 years.)
I failed my Maths prelims and i failed them really badly, i got 19% (Yeah ikr), and guess what? I was like you, i procrastinated all the time for Maths.
But i had around 4 months till my final exams for the year and i made sure that i would succeed at maths (mainly because i felt like a failure, which i was) so for those 4 months i got a maths tutor twice a week and started revising after school everyday for this exam, it got to the point that i only focused on Math's.
So when i went on Study leave (6 weeks) i went to school and studied there instead of at home because i knew that i would get distracted at home.
And by the time the maths exam rolled around i felt confident and all that studying paid off because i got a B+.
And since i have started Higher Mathematics i have continued to study everyday and go to tutor twice a week and it has worked very well for me because now i am getting A's.
The moral of the story is that you will fail if you keep procrastinating, which worked as a real wake up call for me.
So if i was you, instead of going home straight after school, stay after for maybe an hour or even just 30 minutes and do the work that you need to do for you're classes.
It will help a ton, as well as take off a ton of stress.
