Ok, so it's a lot of drama, but I'm hoping for advice.

There's this guy who likes my best friend, but she recently got a boyfriend unexpectedly and the guy is devastated. He's come to me for advice and information regarding my friend for a week now. The thing is, I'm actually quite impressed by him and am willing to give him a try. Just tonight he ranted that he's through with love because he can't come to grips with being able to find someone to understand him.
I'm trying myself to be subtle and aggressive at the same time to keep myself in this game. My best friend knows him to be a good guy, just not the type for her and approves of my trying for him. Should I not even try though and wait for him to get over it without dragging myself in? Or should I give him hope on love by somehow telling him that I have a growing crush on him? OR should I continue my friendly advice and let it grow like that? Though all I've done so far is allowed him to realize that my best friend is not interested. What better advice on love to give than a date request?

Though if it does happen, all my friends go to the boundary school while I'm in a different school. So I'd have to plan things to meet him.
Please give me your opinions!

I'd say go for it because this might actually turn out to be the best thing for both him and you and if you keep just giving him advice then he'll probably only see you as a friend

Well... I did it. I told him and he was actually surprised and willing to try a relationship. Thanks for giving me the courage!

It's been a while and we really like each other. I've been able to walk to his house a couple times and we mess with each other and have fun. Only problem is, once spring break ends, I won't be able to see him much. His school is my neighborhood school, but I go to a science/tech school that opens and lets out later. I'm hoping that any of you have any suggestions because we dread when school starts up again.
