It doesnt work like that. there is no "infected blood"
There are 2 types of Diabetes.
A person has no control over getting Type 1 since it's an auto-immune disease.
Type 2 is often brought on by obesity, so you can prevent it by having a good diet.
It's impossible to catch Diabetes.

Puberty for Boys  VT General Hospital
But Alex is right, diabetes doesn't work like that. Viruses do, like HIV/AIDS.

Alex is nearly right with the diagnoses of diabetes:
Type 1 - Is the bodies inability to produce enough insulin
Type 2 - The body produces insulin, but is not sufficient for the bodies needs
Type 1 is normally diagnosed in younger people, hence the name "onset juvenile diabetes" whilst Type 2, normally happens to people over 40 who are overweight, however, there is a huge increase in Type 2 in teens now, again, mostly people who are very overweight (obese).
To the OP:
There is no way you can "catch" diabetes, its a genetic disorder, not a virus. However, if you touched the test strip, you had a cut on your finger, and the blood got into that cut, and you notice an infection in that area, then, and only then, go to see a doctor.
