OK, so I'm going into High School as a freshman in September, and I was wondering what it's like in the showers? And is it mandatory? I'm kinda insecure about myself, and I would prefer not to be made fun of because of my size and stuff... :( Do you like it? Why or why not? Does it give you boners...?

Weather it's mandatory would depend on the rules at your school. I was nervous at first, but then so will some of the other boys. Some boys will be show-offs. Don't let it phase you. I must admit, I was initially curious. And yes boners will happen - it's natural.

If you're going to a public HS in the United States, it's almost unheard of (as far as I know) to shower for gym. Likely all you'll need to do is just change into gym clothes -- i.e. shorts and a tshirt or something. You'll be in a locker room with a bunch of other guys who are all probably thinking the same thing you are, "oh don't look pleaaaaaase" :P And honestly people generally don't, they just change, and leave; it doesn't take too long.
There's nothing (personally) that I like/dislike about it honestly. It's mandatory so I'll do it, and not think too much of it. Just don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

Depending on what school you go to; it may or may not be mandatory. At my school it isn't but they prefer us to do it so most of us do. Once you get used to being exposed to other guys, you're fine. But for starters look around and see how other guys are acting. If they don't have any problem with exposure, copy them.

I don't mind showers. None of the people are gay so we don't care about each other's dicks. And everyone gets boners at some point. We just joke around with them.

As being in high school, it would be really immature to laugh at one's penis size still. Assuming that they aren't gay, they shouldn't be staring at your junk anyway.

I'm sure people get a few erections in the showers, but it's normal. I've only had one, but that's all.

Don't worry about being made fun of because when your their everyone is naked so you don't really stand out, and even if its not mandatory depending the circumstances taking a shower might be smart. Just don't act like your self conscious, act confident and the rest will follow. As for the boners, everyone gets them so don't worry about it, no one will make fun of you for it. Hope I helped :D

Yeah America seems to have a lot of hesitation when it comes to be naked. I mean sometimes it's reasonable but also if they allowed us, there would be less hesitation.

Getting back to the topic... At my high school, we don't share anymore. There are showers still but no one uses them. They've just become messy. These showers are communal soI guess the school eventually closed them down. It's just changing and talking now

At my school boys are expected to take naked showers and I am glad. It started in middle school so by high school we were used to it. I never heard anyone being made fun of because of size but kids are made fun of if they are so afraid that they run to the stalls to change. Just take a deep breath strip and get it over with. You will get used to it after a few times. I have also seen very few boners and those kids are not made fun of.

It all depends on the school. Some schools have different rules than others. I'm in middle school but I know that. :P

It all depends on your school. I know the high school i go to which is in ohio does not make you take a shower after gym.Like others said it just depends

-Take a sink shower if the showers freak you out.

-It would help if you had a brush, deodorant, and any other things to help you look like when you came in.

that's to avoid showers... anyway, there's nothing to worry about... i used to take showers like that at swimming pool and it's like StoppingTime says... everyone does his own stuff and leaves...

I agree with Shadow08200; you will be just fine, no stress. just do what you have to do and get out of there.
