Rock and a hard place

Since I was 6 years old, I have always had a substance to turn to when life went to shit. More recently as my depression seeped in, I turned harder and harder to drugs, and when they were not available, alcohol. When I was trying not to do these, I was cutting.

Now, I am glad to say I have gone 2 weeks without any substance, however my cutting is getting worse. I'm getting more and more depressed, and it seams to be the only thing that even slightly helps.

Have you ever thought about therapy? Why not put an end to these problems instead of just covering them up.

Rudi, I'm sorry this is all happening to you. I really am. I agree with the above posts, you should go into therapy.

What is the source of the depression? What is causing this pain?

I'm trying to get an appointment booked
I have been for awhile
I have to give the lady a call tomorrow and then from there it will go to someone else and hopefully pan out soon

Yes, I'm sorry for you too, Rudi. Talking with someone sounds like a really good idea. Maybe this time it will work better.

perhaps the underlying depression is being expressed by those symptoms of using drugs, etc., and cutting. So, when you stop one, the other increases because you don't have the release available from the other. This often happens because these things merely cover up the underlying depression, they really don't resolve it.

Therapy can resolve whatever is making you depressed, so you won't feel the need to cut and do other harmful things. Indoxi?
