(pun intended.)

So my family is going away to Birmingham for the weekend in March, and we're staying in a Travelodge for two nights. This is brilliant, but the only downside is that we have two separate double rooms. So does this mean I'll have to share a bed with my 10-year-old sister? I feel awkward just thinking about it. I've spoken to my parents about it, but they're only saying things like, 'be grateful we're going'. I don't think they understand why I'm so against it.

How can I talk to them without feeling seriouslyawkward?

Unfortunately unless you want to sleep in the car it sounds like you will have to deal. I think the majority of ppl have had to share a bed or room with Simone they don't want to. Put a wall of pillows between the two of you if you really can't get over it.

Sleep on the floor. When you stay in a hotel you can basically guarantee that they will keep spare duvets, pillows and blankets either under the bed or in a cupboard. Make yourself a bed on the floor for a couple days I'm sure you'll be okay because it's not for too long. Yeah you're -at least- 13 and a boy, I understand that staying in the same bed as your 10 year old sister might make you feel a bit awkward. If you just make your own bed when they're in their room then it's not really their problem and I'm sure your sister wouldn't mind having the double bed to herself so it's not likely she'd tell.

Sleeping with your younger sister doesn't have to be awkward unless you make it awkward. But if you really do feel uncomfortable, sleep on the floor or couch maybe? There aren't a lot of choices. Once you get there, try and see where sleeping might be the most comfortable by yourself.

Thanks guys; I guess I'll just wait and see. These places are usually cheap, so the 'double bed' is probably just two single beds pushed together to be honest.
