cant give up my blades

Is it weird that while I'm trying to stop and I really am trying I still can't give up my blades if I ever lost one I would freak out though I know I really need to get rid of them i just cant

I'm the same way. I know I should get rid of my blades, but I can't bring myself to. It's okay, I think we'll both be able to in good time. Don't be too hard on yourself. It'll get easier eventually--everyone who's made it says so. Don't give up.

You can believe me, you can, once you decide and say that you can, you'll be able to do it, don't rush and try to do it all at once, you'll need some time to think, it won't happen over night.
But personally, I don't think it's really about the blades, for me I've got my blades right beside me, and I've been clean for 5 weeks :D but you sure don't want them around when you're in depressed-panic situation.

Stopping doesn't come from giving up blades or a lack of blades. If a person wants to cut they will just find more items. Stopping comes from the inside.

I quit and I never gave up my blades. One day I just decided I didn't need to do it anymore and I didn't. I just stopped using them. I gave up by choice not by force.

You will get there. Trying to quit too early can just stress you more. You can go cold turkey but you will know when that time is. It will hit like an epiphany. Its quite rare for people to continue SH for a life time. You don't be stuck there. The end does come and you can just walk away from it.

Yes you may still feel it but you won't do it. It becomes just a feeling rather than a need and for me is very rare and easy to ignore.

Ok, it is hard to stop, one day, I was made to throw it away. Since then, I've done other methods of taking it out like drawing or writing, my friends don't care what I do as long as its not self harm, if anyone wants to talk about it, feel free, i'm here for everyone. ;)

i think i might have my blade with me just incase i really need it. but i made a promise that i wouldnt cut so i will restrain from it.
