If I book a flight for may in February will it be substantially cheaper than if i book the flight in april? is it worth it? Cause I'm not 100% sure if i wanna go somewhere yet but if the tickets would be cheaper now I should probably get them:/ ??

Definitely yes. As the time comes, tickets may go up as fast as 50 bucks every day, so I'd say decide quick and book soon.

Whenever you get them, they're ridiculously expensive. Don't waste your money on somewhere you don't wanna go. Me and two other people went to Hawaii for two weeks last summer, and it cost about $30,000 round trip.

Booking in advance is usually cheaper. I booked a holiday for April last September and the prices were so cheap!

Yes, they're dirt cheap on the local airlines too. I'd say if you book them now you can go domestic from $69 - $250 (at least on Virgin America)...
Or if you're absolutely not sure until April but you don't want to pay a lot, the train is always a pretty cheap and scenic alternative!

Booking in advance is always better. Also, Tuesdays/Wednesdays and very early and very late flights are ALWAYS the cheapest! Avoid Friday/Saturday/Sundays, holidays, and 10am-3pm if you want cheap. Good luck!

A tip for booking a flight online is, before you buy the tickets clear your browsers cache. The more you visit that website the higher the price of the ticket goes up.

Hmm I never knew that, I'll know to do that in future.

The earlier you book the better, that's for sure. A couple of years ago we booked our flights in September for the next July. The total price of our holiday (flights + accommodation) came to less than the flight from Glasgow a few months later.

Another good idea, if you're in the US have a look at airlines such as Allegiant, Southwest and Spirit. Easyjet, Ryanair and Jet2 in Europe. They will be significantly less than the larger airlines. Only problem is that you might not get your money back should you decide to cancel.
