Skateboard as Transportation

Ahh, the skateboard.. Portable, no gas or insurance payments, you can bring it with you in a building for maximum security, gets you from point A to point B albeit slower than other forms of transportation, but is perfect for the little small town that I live in :) . What do you guys think of the skateboard?

I have a skateboard but I havent used it since summer. I actually like it more as a mode of transport than for tricks and stuff

I live 10 miles from town, so they're useless to me. They don't really work on dirt roads.
