I've done a quick google search, and prostate exams normally start from the age of 40 upwards, as prostate cancer tends to happen in older men, so we all can breath easy for a long time for that one! Any exam down there and most of us would possibly get hard, as a number of us have had exams to check development of the balls (and for tight foreskin). Doctor would be used to it, as he (or she) would have seen plenty of them!

I'm not sure what age i'll get my prostate exam, but I know the doctor is just doing his job. I don't think i'll get hard, but even if I do, the doctor won't care.

Usually men get prostate exams froma ges 40 and upwards since prostate issues when they do happen tend to happen to men above the age of 40. However, if it runs in your family, similar to a woman getting a mammogram to detect breast cancer, then you might want to get a prostate exam as early as 30 or 20 if really worried if it is in your family.

Depends on the doctor, 3 of my friends (14, 15 years old) told me their doctors inserted them a lubed finger and pressured the prostate during their physical exam or puberty check up, my 3 friends got really hard and shot sperm over the floor and the wall. It sounds embarrassing.

There is NO set age for a prostate exam. If you have any kind of urinary infection or blockage at any age, the prostate can be a cause if enlarged and putting pressure on the urinary tract. It is not uncommon for boys to experience urinary problems during puberty or afterwards. It isn't necessarily associated with cancer risks or your age. My first one was at 18.

Prostate exams I think can occur anytime after your 40 or maybe 30. Don't worry about getting hard, the doctor is only doing his job and he's probably seen plenty anyways.

You don't necessarily need to get one, but it's extremely recommended. If unchecked and cancer forms, it may be too late. I'd just get it done with to make sure you're healthy… Of course, that won't happen until your later years :)

I believe it's about 40+. I wouldn't care if I got hard and neither would my doctor.

Unless you have like family history of prostate cancer you won't have to get one til you're past 35. Most men not til past 40

You're right. Doc will know it's normal. He'll put a finger condom on, lube his finger and your butt-hole & put his finger up there to massage your prostate and get some fluid which will come out the end of your penis. He'll collect it on a microscope slide and examine it, looking to be sure everything's ok. Nothing to be afraid of. No big deal. All boys go thru it.

Don't be afraid of what the Dr. will think, why give a damn what anyone thinks about you? You're your own person, you're fine the way you are. Accept that and believe in yourself and you have learned an important lesson. My dad and gay gramps taught me that and I have to remind myself of it sometimes.

Usually at 40 years old.

What I've been told is that is unpleasant, but not ankward at all because you have to think that the doctor does it millions of times.
And you don't have time to get hard, when the doctor touch your prostate most of the patients ejaculate inmediatly, like a reflect.

Generally, you get them when you are over the age of 40, but a lot of people may have them earlier if the doctor just decides to test for it - it's better it is found early than found too late. Don't worry about it too much yet, it is probably still a long way off before you have to have one

You usually get them at around 35-40 years old. Don't worry, just remember that the doctor is a professional and it will only be awkward if you make it that way :)

The exam is for when you are 40+ years old. It is to check for tumors or cancer. Don't worry about it.

I thought it was a thing older guys get, like later in life because the illness mostly effects older men.

An actual prostate exam is when you get a lot older, it swells when you get old and causes problems. I had an anal exam when I was 15 for another problem they thought I had but didn't, thank God. The Dr told me I might get an erection and have a little orgasm when he examined me. Well...... that was an understatement. I got a full boner and came like a hose. I was sooo embaressed . THe Dr was really cool, he said it happens, no problem. And ya know what, since then I like to fell my prostate when I jerk off. It's awesome man.
