Hey!
So I started taking Adderall for my ADHD and lately I have had no appetite at all. I have found that I have to force myself to eat just because I know that if I don't I woudn't eat at all. I am now seeing the amount of weigt I am losing and wondered if anyone else deal with extreme weight loss or moderate weight loss on this drug and any tips on how to deal with it?
Thanks! :)

Yeah it's because Adderall is a stimulant. It used to be used as a weight loss drug before they realized that it's good for ADHD. It makes you not hungry because it's a stimulant. I took it for a really long time, but I couldn't handle how it made me feel, they had to force me to take it. I can't tell you how many times my parents and I got into it over it. But then it made my seizures worse so they finally took me off of it. When I took Adderall it made me feel like I constantly had to be doing something, which is funny because I was taking it for ADHD, lol had the opposite effect that they wanted. I felt like I constantly had to clean or make something, couldn't sit still at all it made me horribly jittery.

My advice is that if you don't like the way it makes you feel have them put you on or let you try something that isn't a stimulant. I'm taking Intuniv, it's not a stimulant and it's working better for my ADHD than Adderall ever did.

Just be careful with adderall it can be addictive only stick to what you're prescribed and nothing more.

All drugs have side effects. And different people will have some manynor none of those side effects at different variations. As noted it can become addictive. With this drug it does not mean is a bad thing necessarily. So long as you aren't abusing it. You have to weigh the balance of progress side effects and how you feel. And what the outcome. I take it to, and it does impact food intake. There is some drugs your doctor can give yiunto increase your apetite as well. I choose not to take those. I focus on what I eat, and eat a high protein hi card diet. And I try and eat manynsmall meals, almost snacks everyday. Even if I'm not hungry. I find it easier as it's a smaller meal, not so hard to eat. Plus it's better to eat thatbway for your body. So yeah your experiencing normal stuff for the mods your taking, you just got to work with it. Cause loosing to much weight isn't good for you. So maybe talk to your doc or a nutritionist and make up a balanced diet for you. Exercise will help also
