I can't be. There has to be someone out there that feels this way. I always dread the day I turned 16. I'm 16 now and I feel like there are people in my life forcing me to get a license. I don't want to drive.

I'm somewhat afraid of driving, honestly, not to mention that it's extremely difficult and not at all useful considering the area I live in. However, I still have some desire to learn, just because it's a useful skill and it'd come in handy some day. I'm not rushing it, though.

Personally, i can't wait to drive, but thats because I'm somewhat of a motorhead XD I think driving would be a very useful skil to have even if you dont plan on driving much....

I'm the same, no reason in particular I just don't want to drive. My plan is to live somewhere that has good public transport.

Hey, that's not a problem. I'm sure Philly is a great haven for bus and rail service so that you don't really have a need to drive!

Out where I live, car is king so I was pretty eager to start. I was deathly afraid of other drivers when I first started driving (in fact, an idiot almost hit the side of the car backing out of his driveway on my first day on the road). It's just something you get more comfortable about with more practice behind the wheel.

I don't want to learn to drive... Personal reasons of why, but driving scares me.

I was like that... I waited months to get my permit (which lasts two years). It'll be two years in April and I still haven't gone to get my license- I know how to drive and all and drive without a license (shh... don't tell anyone, I don't drive very long distances, but I know it's not right). Just something about getting the license and it being all official really bothers me... kinda like I'll be giving up my last bit of childhood, I guess. But yeah, I know I have to face it eventually... I just don't want to...

Because of my neurological impairments i may never qualify for a drivers
license. But I am still doing driving lessons out on desert roads.
One of my problems with it is im so freaking small :D

There's public transportation, you can walk or ride a bike and eventually there will be self driving cars. So all is not lost

I love cars.. and I love the concept of driving but I really really really hate actually doing it.. I find it extremely stressful. I wish i didn't but sadly :/

Yeah I got to start lessons just after 17 (when we can do it here) and I'd awlays been wanting to do it, especially now that one of my friends has his licence and I get to go out and about with him at times so much more of a laugh than going a drive with your parents hahaha. Still learning but nearly there. Really enjoy it and look forward to my lessons - it is a bit daunting, but after the first couple of lessons you get used to it - I've had a few lessons Friday evenings which is usually hectic, but it's good to learn when things are crazy - then book an early test, and it should be easier :D

I have loved cars since I was very young but now I would say I agree with you - just see it as an unneeded expense really

I dreaded the day i got my permit, bcause my papaw is blind and wants me to drive him everywhere. the only thing happy about me getting my permit was my 15 year old dog seeing me get it, even if it aint my license. he died 7 days after i got it. took every bit of excitement out of my body

The age in my country is 17. I haven't even thought about learning how to drive and I'm 18. It's not about the money for me, I just don't want to. It's normal! Not everyone wants to and that's totally fine!

No. I'm not willing to drive a car either. I don't plan on moving outside Montpellier so I don't think I'll need a car. Plus when you're autistic like me it's a lot harder to learn how to drive.
