Diet pills are extremely dangerous,
My sister went on diet pills and they caused her to think she was having a heart attack, also when she went off them she realised they caused many health problems...best just doing exercise and watching what you eat.
I'll ask her next time I see her what tablets she took

Besides the said health risks involved with diet pills they are not the solution to your weight problem, losing weight takes work.
There is no magic pill for losing weight the best and healthiest way to do it is to eat right and exercise.

Diet pills are a scam. You take the pill, and either it does nothing, it has nasty side-effects, or you lose the weight. Let's say you lose the weight. You're overjoyed, and you stop taking the pills, and it's done right? Well, since you're still eating your high-calorie/high fat foods and not really exercising, you gain it all right back, and have to go back on the pill. Companies trick you into thinking the pill will solve everything, without mentioning many safe life-style changes, on purpose so that you keep buying their product to keep the weight off. Unfortunately, they're not really designed for long-term use, and they can cause serious health problems that get worse the more you take it. It could kill you, it could damage your heart, kidneys, liver, it could even kill you. AND it's expensive. It is not worth the risk.
Eat healthier, 5 small meals per day instead of 3 big ones, and exercise more. That's the only real solution.

if your on a really low calorie diet and exercise everyday then surely they will just help you stick to the diet and you won't get the cravings for food all the time, it would just help to stick it out.

You shouldn't be on a really low calorie diet. I think for most people, sticking to between 1500 and 1800 calories per day, combined with exercise, should help. Either way, the pills will take away your appetite while you're losing weight, which is good until you go off of it and you have a huge appetite again. To lose weight, you should be making changes you can live with long-term. You can't eat less to lose weight then eat normally again or it'll come back. It's easy enough to lose weight without the pills. I've been doing it, I've been losing 2 or 3 pounds a week just by eating healthy and exercising. You never know what a diet pill is really doing to you. There's a reason that, if you were to go to a nutritionist, their plan would not involve diet pills. Because they are risky, and often scams. Have you ever noticed in the commercials, how the before and after pictures aren't always the same person? They'll be pale in the before, then very tan with suddenly bigger boobs in the after. They'd like you to think they got tan by exercising outside, or that they're confident enough now to use self-tanners, but if you have a DVR and you pause it, you see it's not the same person, just a look-alike. That happens a lot. It's misleading, and can cause you to overdose if you're not getting the same results, which could easily kill you.
I'd suggest starting with regular dieting and exercise. If you can find it, pick up a copy of Lighten Up by Charles Stuart Platkin. It's designed for teens who want to get healthier and lose weight. It talks about why a lot of the diets you hear about don't work, and how to find a plan that will work (without feeling like you're starving or missing out on the foods you love!). It really changed my perspective on dieting, and I think it could be helpful to you, or to anyone who wants to lose weight.

Yes, but the minute you stop taking them the cravings come back, plus the health risks are tremendous, your heart rate and blood pressure goes up so there not good news I'm afraid.
It's best doing it the way you just described all except with no pills and eat at least the recommended calorie intake.
EDIT:
My sister told me about the pills she took there called phentermine they are now illegal in the UK and Hoodia is aparently barely legal since its practically phentermine.
My sister had a pulse rate that was basically a heart attack but it wasnt because her heart didnt stop, shes now having to take beta blockers to slow her heart rate and she has to take diazapan if she goes on a plane coz her heart rate soars.

i'll keep to my controlled diet for now then, i know how serious heart problems are, and then run in the family, so it would be even worse for me to consider.

Woah, now THATS f***** up.
Ugh I hate that ><
I don't really care about y appearence, I'm perfectly fine with how I am. ^^;;
Alot of people don't realize that it doesn't matter how someone looks, and forget to give them a chance.
:P but enough of my speechy thing, I really dont think diet pills would work, they either have side effects like...hallucinating * oh no! Elvis and a polar bear with wings are in my toilet!* or they only work while your taking them.
hope I helped :D
