I like going underwater filming before now I had a waterproof compact but it broke
So for the same price I could get another or get a gopro as they are good for anywhere
So what should I get and any other suggestions?

I have no idea what you are talking about. But that is my fault because I am terrible with electronics

Check out the Pentax WG line of point and shoot cameras.
The WG-1 and WG-2 are the older models (but you could probably pick one up used for a decent price), I think the WG-3 may be the current version. Waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and all that great stuff... and my favorite feature, it has a round macro flash around the lens for taking well-lighted close-up photos.

Thanks I looked at them but people say gopro is better for that espically when you want to go deeper as there is little risk of leaking unlike compacts

GoPro's are very very good. They last a long time and can withstand harsh treatment. I'd recommend them.

GoPro's are great, just very small. So don't lose it! much better than a compact:)
