Whatever happened to rep?

I just realized that the rep bar under my avatar pic is gone. Did you guys get rid of them?

It apparently caused too many problems, arguments etc. people kicking up a fuss because they get minus repped. I personally think we should have something in it's place likes/thanks... but it splits VT.

The rep system was abused and caused commotions so it got taken away as a whole.

It was a system in which a user could decide to give another user's post either a positive rep or a negative rep, and a user's total rep score would show underneath their avatars. "Rep" is short for reputation.

Ahh, I see...and yes, i can imagine the problems it could have made.

It worked for years and years with no problems! It boosted confidence and showed appreciation. There was nothing better than logging on to VT and seeing advice you've given being appreciated.... but oh well. Things change, just not always for the best.
