I just found this really good article online...The woman who wrote it obviously wrote it as a lesbian, But I think most of the points apply to all Gay people. Thoughts?

I read this article about a year ago and 100% agree with it. Thanks for posting! I completely agree with number 2. It always seems like if i have someone that supports my sexuality, they try to bring other factors into the equation that would further more "increase" their support like adding friends or what is presumed to be gay things like in the article, "Lady gaga CD's." It's sort of annoying, because it's like they have to have a reason to support you. They can't just "Support" you. I hope a lot more people see that link Alex! :)

Haha exactly, and when people are like "OMG Youre gay! Cool! Just like Elton John" I'm supposed to be like "yeah! Exactly!"
Whereas if were to say "OMG! You're straight! Just like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson" they would be like :what:

1. Why would you comment that? By doing that you just shoved YOURE beliefs down out throats
2. They arent "beliefs"

I didnt shove my "beliefs" down ur throats im just saying if u tell me to accept ur "partices/beliefs" that its ok to be gay and it needs to be accepted. I just wont accept it cause. I will stand on certain principles. Im not saying to believe and u have accept my "beliefs" or pricipals but im just saying i will not accept ur views. Or whatever.
Im not condemming u saying ur going to hell and shit but, i will stand onthe principles i wad brought up with. And u will stand on urs.

I suppose I'm quite lucky in the sense that I've only had one of these encounters. I recall it taking place with an old lady in a McDonalds in my town. She was going on about how disgusting it was that two men could live together and love each other. Being gay myself, I suppose it was exactly the same feeling the writer had in her first point.
I agree totally with what she says. Thanks for sharing!!
