Okay, so here's my plan... Since I'm an ungrateful little tool that can't settle with what he has already, I plan to replace the exhaust tips on my car.

The tips are gonna cost me $69 + S&H
That puts me at about $80.
Since I don't own an arc welder, (who does?) I have to go to a mechanic to get the stock tips plasma cut off and the new tips welded on.
What I'm wondering is how much the labor will cost me. Thanks for putting up with my sloppy thread. :)

Each mechanic is different, but mine charges by the hour for labour (Most likely most mechanics do).
I think mine charges $65ish an hour

If you go to a local shop they might charge you less. The place I go gives me good deals for minor stuff like that, they'd probably only charge $20 or so. Maybe ask around town for someone that can weld too, thats such an easy job.

Most places around here will do a whole muffler for about $50. It's relatively similar, so probably close. It just depends on the shop I guess.

Anything mechanical I can't do myself I get for free, so I have no idea what their rates are.

This is no reference but that probably an hour of work, so make it $40ish.
Is it an auto or manual (NOT stick shift, but manual :) )

I think you would want to use a wire feed mig welder not a stick arc welder thoes require lots of heat to melt the welding rod mig dose not gives u a better weld and easier to use thats if your going to try to do it your self. Have you looked for a muffler shop in stead or mechanic shop might be cheap in that direction or a welding shop would work too thats if the mechanic is tooo expensive. Good luck
