Really, Really love someone but they're probably not gay

Im 16 yr old male and there a boy who I have loved for such a long time, he knows i 'like' but he doesn't know that I really really love him, i've asked friends what I should do some just say get over him some say, 'experiment' by hugging him or kissing him when he's at mine or whatever, but I don't want him to absolutely hate me if like he's doesn't at all like guys, on the other hand if he does like...'kiss me back' or 'hug me back' then it would be the best day of my life, some people have also said it would be good to just tell him how much i actually do love him, dunno what to do

It's a pickle but I would not proceed before I knew his sexuality. As recommended by CTL; Find out what his preferences are and if he's open - well, maybe kiss him on the cheek. By the way, does he know that you're a homo- or bisexual?

He knows I like guys yes, and he's fine with it

the only thing i could suggest is that you should talk to him say that you like him if he's a true friend he should be flattered not offended believe me i was in the same boat i tried and it worked out quite well

As an alternative to what the other guys said, you could always just hint at it just by hugs and jokes. You could also have him over and try getting the two of you in the 'experimenting' mood and see his reaction. That seems to work for me.

If you know him well enough to "love" him, surely he's given some sort of inclination in the past as to what his sexuality is... You could always ask him (when you're not around others) if he's ever been curious about guys. It's not nearly as straight forward as asking if he's gay.
