It's ironic to me that the only time a straight guy would want a guy instead of a girl
touching him is when it is a psychical. I never had a female doc do one yet, but I
would be uncomfortable with it. But don't worry about awkward, just go in
follow the instructions and get it over with. If you pop a boner oh well that's what
dicks do. It will be the bazillionth one she's seen and won't give a crap.

I agree that it won't make or break the doctor's day if the OP pops a boner or not but still I see the OP's point. Sure she has seen hundreds and acts like the pro she is but that doesn't mean she doesn't notice and is curious about sexual stuff and want to see stuff to make her day not as boring. IDK how many different cars I have washed for church, soccer, basketball and track teams the past 3 years it tons though and usually I don't even notice much but I do notice the really filthy and the really nice cars. So if you're like 99% of guys and have a regular dick she probably won't notice but if you're unusually big or small or curved or hairy or something you may spice up her day but like others have said, she will see 10 other dicks after yours and 10 more the bext day and forfet all about you.

i had a physical last week with a woman doctor. was in my briefs during it and only had to lower them for the hernia check. i don't have a lot of body hair and what few pubes i have i shave. the only embarrassing part was when she asked if i actually had pubes and i had to tell her i shaved but she just said that a lot of boys do it too.

It's part of her job, and i'm pretty sure she could care less if you get horny or spring up an erection. Just don't worry about it.

It happens pretty quickly, then it is over. My doc for the last 5 years is female. I concentrate on something difficult- like saying the ABCs backwards during the hernia check. As other have said, she has seen hundreds of penises while training, & it is not a sexual object to her. It is no different than listening to your heart.

I have several physicians in my family, including mom. My brother was the most recent to finish med school. He said that the best answer he heard for keeping from getting an erection, (they do the exams on each other as part of learning, before they can do them on patients). Anyway, one guy said that he imagines the female doc is actually his grandmother- in the nude. He says that removes ALL thoughts of getting an erection!
