I'm on it but they have a very narrow language selection so I use Memrise instead.

I've never used it, since it doesn't have a very big selection of languages. I don't really like online language courses. I find it better to read about grammar and then just use the language to read or speak.

I am taking Spanish 1 and I have used to app to see how it compares and my thoughts are... mixed. It's an interesting and new approach to an old subject, but in my opinion, I think it would be it would be a lot easier to learn from daily/traditional classes. However, if you don't have access to the wonderful resource known as public education, it's not a bad idea. Really it's about what works for you, and I don't think Duolingo could work for me.

I use it and actually find it enjoyable and educational, both for learning new languages and for the furtherment and supplementation of those which I already learn. No, it's not as good as dedicated classes, but for free, I can't think of much better. Its range of language is small, but I can't learn too many at a time anyway.
Wonder.
