What are some indie games made in the past few years that you appreciate?

Cave Story is a great one. I played it on my friends Wii in 2012, and I bought it a few days after Christmas for my 3DS. Absolutely brilliant little story with a lot of replay value.

I also like the Bit.Trip series and Machinarium. Very charming games that let you appreciate the details that they make to express detail or lack of it.

Gone Home was great, because of its very humane story, and it wasn't long at all but it WAS unforgettable.

DLCQuest wasn't that good but it was so hilarious it deserves an honorable mention.

Cthulhu Saves the World also deserves being mentioned for being very complete and hilarious.

Gone Home, Starbound (Lots of detail, lovely little game), Teraria, FTL and Race The Sun.

I enjoyed all of these games a lot.

I adore Binding of Isaac. I've played more than my fair share of Terraria, Towns, Haven & Hearth, Don't Starve, among others as well, but currently Binding of Isaac is my favourite. I haven't played Gone Home but I've watched two different Youtubers play it and it hits some major chords with me, love it. Don't know if it deserved the #1 spots it got as it is a story game (which I love) but I don't find that fair to other types of games honestly.

I would have to go with the cliche, and say that Cave Story is my favourite indie game :)
