I would like to suggest that a new forum for collectors is added for those who have a collection of certain items that they would like to share with everyone, or maybe even ask for advice in trading and such.
I believe that it would help many people on the forums! :D

That's actually a great idea. I collect small bouncing balls lol. They could make a new sub-forum on Teen Lifestyle, for instance.

Not to rain on all of your parades, but I don't see how this would be useful. I imagine it would just be a bunch of threads where people upload a picture of their collection and people just posting "cool" then moving on. I can't see any real discussion coming out of it. :/

That's exactly what the photography and artwork forums are like, but they're around because people like to share their stuff and they're rather popular. I think a collectors' forum is a great idea.

But those people (are supposed to) leave constructive criticism. You can't really do that with a collection.

The content wouldn't really vary or require assistance. The only thing that anybody here can do to help another with their collection is to give them information, and if they are a legitimate collector, then they will have the initiative to find out what they require in their collection to make it complete anyway. It's nothing that can be helped by others unless you're physically with them. Unless it becomes a trading forum, but I doubt that'd be allowed because it involves trading personal information as well as the actual materials.

I am just not sure if this would get enough activity to justify a whole forum. If you are just saying "I collect this, because of this" then I suspect a stickied thread in TWPR would be the way to go.
And as has been said by staff so many times, we are mainly here as a help site, and as Branden has said, I don't see the ability to help or give a lot of feed back on a collection

I agree I don't see adding a forum just for this when a thread in TWPR, or a diary would work. another possibility is to start a collectors social group.

Ok, this convinced me. Maybe they're right, a collectors social group would be more suitable.
