Has a friend ever commuted suicide?

I had a friend kill herself, it was really devastating, I knew she was depressed but I never thought she was suicidal, I wish I could have done more. I've had other friends attempt and that was very scary. I also attempted suicide once myself but that's another story.

Many of my friends have tried to commit suicide but I've always managed to talk them out of it.

No, not yet. My friend is always depressed and tells me he wants to commit suicide. Its actually hard for me to comfort him because I always try to make him look at the brighter side of life, he's still depressed.

I have a friend that has tried to do it twice, he cut his chest near his heart but it wasn't a severe enough cut. The second time he went to a bridge and he was going to jump but his Mum and Dad got there in time to stop him. I made him promise me he'd never do it again and he hasn't.

While he hasnt killed himself, one of my best friends that I've known since I was 5 recently confessed to me his deep depression and suicidal thoughts...... I let his therapist know about it.

My sister also (I think) tried to O.D and run away a few years ago. She was caught and got sent to a psych ward for a few days.
