Should people who have been on long term life support and in a long time coma ( eg 5 years ) be put to sleep ? Is it fair to try and keep these people alive if there chances are so bleak? Just asking this as i was reading about the ex Israeli prime minister who's in a coma

"Put to sleep" means to be euthanized, OP. There's a difference between taking someone off of life support and euthanizing them.

Unless the person has specified earlier in their will, which is what they SHOULD do, that they don't want to be kept on life support, then no, they shouldn't be kept on life support.

Euthanasia is when a close family member or friend decides that it's better for you to die then to live in pain or not really live at all; usually by pulling the plug. ( Tho recently they changed the definition to a requested death by the patient themselves, even tho this is usually not the case, like for coma patients )
It's illegal in almost every country.... Except for where I live! (yay?)
So yea... If I ever get in a coma my family can unplug me and it's perfectly legal.
