Three weeks ago tomorrow was my first time to have sex. I have been on my period every day since then, and it's a really heavy flow. We used a condom, and I am on birth control. Does anyone know what is happening to me?

It means you're on your period? It also means you're not pregnant, if that's any consolation. But yeah there's probably nothing wrong. How old are you?

I'm 15. Yes, but I have been on my period for three weeks, and it doesn't usually last that long.

if you have been on your period for three weeks straight, i would go to the doctor or the ER because there could be a serious underlying issue that needs to be dealt with.

Well, I don't know if there's a problem at all. How long have you been on your period? If it's been like 3 years or less, then it is very likely that you're just not regular yet. Sometimes, while your body is still getting used to this relatively new function, you'll bleed for a long time, or you'll skip periods, or it'll be every 15 days instead of every 28, things like that. Does this feel like a normal period? Same amount of cramping, PMS, etc. as normal? Or does this feel really odd compared to other periods? Is there perhaps pain in the vaginal area and not just around your uterus? If anything is more than a little abnormal, tell a parent and have them take you to the doctor. You don't need to tell them you had sex (though you should tell that to the doctor once you're alone in the room with them, they need to know in case you may have sustained an injury during it that's causing the bleeding), but tell them your period has gone on for a long time and it doesn't feel right. It's better to pay for a needless doctor's visit and feel silly later, than to ignore it and have a real problem.
I guess what I'm saying is it's up to you if you think there's a problem or this is just your period fluctuating. Maybe give it a few days, see if the flow slows down. If you're getting lightheaded easily (but you're eating enough, sleeping enough and drinking enough water), go to the doctor, you may be losing too much blood. They can tell you best if there's anything to worry about.

How long have you been on the Pill? The hormones in it can alter period flow/length. Call the doctor who prescribed them and tell him/her what's going on. You might need a different prescription. Do this soon.
